What’s new in this release?
Aspose development team is pleased to announce the new release of Aspose.Cells for Android v8.3.0. This release contains some useful features and other improvements. Aspose.Cells allows you to retrieve the equation text of a chart trendline. Aspose.Cells provides the Trendline.getDataLabels().getText() method which returns the equation text of a chart’s trendline. To make use of this property, first call the Chart.calculate() method. Please see the detailed article on retrieving the equation text of a chart trendline in the documentation section. This new release has added several useful get/set methods that can enable the developers to track & manipulate the Workbook file’s state. Aspose.Cells for Android 8.3.0 has provided fixes and other enhancements for several important issues, such as, reading/writing Microsoft Excel files, calculating formulas, manipulating charts and shapes, sheet to image, chart to image and Excel to PDF bugs, etc. This release includes plenty of improved features and bug fixes as listed below
- Increase performance by caching the prepared MessageFormat object
- Remove or cache MessageFormat/DecimalFormat.format() to improve performance
- Remove XLA references
- Fixed Chart bars issues for the negative values loses color when spreadsheet is saved by Aspose.Cells
- Fixed: error in calculating cells - exception on calculating formula
- Fixed: formatted number is rendered as blank
- Textbox text issue is fixed and now included inside the chart image
- Excel function NOW() was not working in Russian setting is now fixed
- Color.getBlack().equals(Color.getEmpty()) was returns true. It is fixed
- DateTime value is fixed and now read in correct format
- Fixed issue: XLA reference was not removed correctly by ExternalLink.setDataSource
- XLSX file is corrupted after re-saving the file via Aspose.Cells APIs is now fixed
- Chart axis steps broke after copying worksheet is now fixed
- Changing the Workbook Color Pallet while saving the XLSX to XLS causes the MS Excel to open the resultant spreadsheet in protected view is now fixed
- Losing quotes for certain Named Ranges is now fixed
- Cells.copyRows() method is fixed & now copying sparklines in the XLSX file format.
- Text formatting issue is resolved while reading the cells' styles
- Getting #VALUE! error when using RATE function is now fixed
- Hidden series inside the legend appears again after copying worksheet is fixed.
- Chart axis steps broke when workbook re-saved is now resolved
- Copy Pasted Picture issues is fixed and now Rendering in the PDF
- Fixed: Aspose.Cells generated PDF does not pass the PDF/A-1b compliance test
- Aspose.Cells Generated PD/ A-1b document fails the Preflight validation is fixed
- PDF document is broken and cannot be opened in Acrobat Reader after converting from Excel template file is now corrected
- ClipArt’s do not appear in pdf is now fixed
- Compliance PDF/A-1b failed with Adobe Preflight
- User-defined Chart Series Names are empty
- Charts Titles are messed up
- Data Separator of Stacked Column Chart has different thickness while rendering Spreadsheet to PDF format

Cloud solution for continuous applications delivery with automatic vertical and horizontal scalability, orchestration and management of containers, on top of bare metal hardware
Jelastic, Inc., the first company that combined unlimited PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) and IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) into one solution, has announced integration with Docker using Parallels Cloud Server. The collaboration will allow service providers to enable continuous application delivery, fully elastic scalability and integrated orchestration and management for hosting applications in the cloud. This is the first industry solution that combines Docker´s application delivery approach and Parallels containers, fully managed via Jelastic PaaS.
Docker, Jelastic and Parallels Cloud Server are complementary to each other. Docker standard in Jelastic allows the companies to reach a wider market of public and private cloud customers who require more automation, security, optimization of resources consumption and flexibility, while setting and managing their applications, clusters and services.

Increasing Functionality for Service Providers
With the integration of Docker standard across the Jelastic platform, users will now have more flexibility and options while installing any stack, application or system.
Customers will also get the added benefits of Parallels Cloud Server and Jelastic PaaS. Features include the following:
• Live migration of Dockers: Cloud service providers will be able to migrate Dockers from one physical server to the other with zero downtime, increasing operational efficiency.
• Granular division of physical servers into containers with Docker but not into VMs: As a result, a user is not restricted with limited resources of the virtual machine, but can scale the application throughout the whole server.
• High density and maximum utilization of server resources: This results in the best return-on-investment for the customer.
• Full isolation and security of containers: Each Docker gets complete privacy and becomes unavailable for other users due to the full isolation of RAM, CPU, IO, filesystem and network for each container.
• Smart distribution of Docker from one environment evenly on different physical servers: This eliminates any risk of application downtime if one of the physical servers has any issues with performance and provides high availability of users´ applications.
• Optimal use of resources with the help of hibernation: Non-active Dockers can be hibernated automatically and do not consume resources (only disc space), the released resources are returned back to the cluster.
• Automation and resource management: Automatic vertical scaling ensures that Docker will get the required resources in time and will not face any performance degradation. For public cloud users this approach significantly saves money as they pay only for what they use, instead of trying to use what they pay for.
• Full orchestration: With Jelastic, you get all necessary services and tools for managing your Dockers (creating clustered solutions, setting load balancing, etc.) out-of-the-box right from the admin panels (for developers and cluster admins).
Jelastic, with the support of Docker standard, will provide developers with a joint platform that lets them easily host and manage all types of applications or services, within a wide choice of datacenters around the world. What’s new in this release?
We are happy to announce the release of Aspose.Tasks for .NET 7.3.0. This month’s release is sort of a maintenance release that fixes a number of bugs reported by our valued users. During the past few months, we had introduced a new feature of retaining the same project data view while rendering data to various formats. This feature was supported for Task Sheet, Task Usage, Resource and Resource Usage views. This month’s release brings further stability to this feature by fixing issues such as text alignment, changes in resource names, missing columns in output and change in table contents during rendering of Project data to PDF. Aspose.Tasks API already provides the capability to define and associate a calendar with a Task. This month’s release fixes a bug that was found while attaching a new calendar to a Task which could further effect the calculations. This, in turn, further enhances the API functionality in terms of reliability. At present, our development team is trying its best to extend the range of MPP writing functionality supported by the API. At the same time, we are trying hard to make the API easier to understand and its use in applications. Please stay tuned for further updates in this regard. What’s new in this release?
The long awaited version of Aspose.Cells for Java 8.3.0 has been released. It provides support for exporting charts in Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) format, an XML-based vector image format for two-dimensional graphics which supports interactivity and animation. Aspose.Cells for Java 8.3.0 has added several properties that could enable developers to track and manipulate a workbook file’s state. It has added a getter/setter for the property Shape.Id to help developers identify each shape object in a spreadsheet. This property also helps them to uniquely identify the Chart objects in a spreadsheet as demonstrated on the blog announcement page. This latest release has fixed numerous problems, and the most notable of these enhancements includes, enhanced PDF rendering engine to address a few visual problems, tweaked the chart rendering mechanism, improved the Formula Engine to address a few issues related to the NOW & RATE functions, Addressed a few issues related to the color pallets. What's New in this Release?
The long awaited version of Aspose.Slides for Java (14.7.0) has been released. This is a maintenance release whereby we have addressed several issues that have been reported recently. The main focus has been to improve issues with access and saving files as well as slide transitions and rendering issues. It introduced support for improved slide animations and transition effects in a presentation. It has also introduced support for cloning or serializing shapes within presentation slides. Now, it is possible to replicate shapes from a source slide by adding or inserting them into a target slide shape collection. Aspose team has rectified issues pertaining to presentation accessing and saving to other formats which resulted in exceptions like NullReference, ArgumentException, IndexOutOfRange, StackOverFlow, TextFrameFormat and unsupported format exception using older product versions. Aspose team has improved the API rendering performance in this release to a great extent in areas of charts, SmartArt, text and tables for generated slide thumbnails and exported PDFs. We have addressed several rendering issues for charts and text frames involving text spilling out of shape, improper chart titles, missing images, missing text and improper chart rendering issues for exported PDF and generated thumbnails. The SmartArt rendering has also been improved and issues like missing or improperly rendered SmartArt shape in exported PDFs have also been rectified. We have enhanced the rendering support in this release for chart entities, other text elements and shapes inside generated thumbnails and PDF files. It has made several enhancements to the new API. The Game Creators today released App Game Kit (AGK) version 2 on STEAM, which means that the easy to use, instant coding tool for beginners, hobbyists and indies alike is now available on the largest digital store in the world.

What’s new in this release?
We are pleased to announce the new release of Aspose.Email for Java 4.7.0. This new release includes search capabilities for messages in a PST, improving PST size and speed, and creating TNEF messages from MapiMessage. This month’s release provides the capability of searching a PST for messages based on specified criteria using the PersonalStorageQueryBuilder class. The feature offers searching messages based on:
- Message importance
- Message class
- Presence of attachments
- Message size
- Unread messages
- Unread messages with attachments, and
- Folders with specific subfolder name
This month’s release includes a new feature that allows you to create TNEF EML messages from Outlook MSG files. It can preserve the contents of MSG files such as tables and text styles if the converted message is sent out. The InterpretAsTnef property is used to achieve this as shown in the TNEF attachment example. Aspose.Email now allows developers to reduce the message size by using RTF body compression. This, as a result, creates a smaller size PST but at the cost of speed. If speed is a requirement, then set the UseBodyCompression property to false to turn compression off. Aspose.Email already provides the capability to convert emails to MHTML format. Until now, there were limited options for controlling header fields during the conversion. This month’s release brings further improvements to this functionality by providing the capability of writing the To, From, CC and BCC fields to the output. This month’s release includes a number of bug fixes which further aids the API functionality improvement. Bugs fixed in this month’s release include corrupt message creation with MapiRecipient, contact Notes formatting issues, and all the ported issues from our .NET version of Aspose.Email. The New Spread Release Expands Browser Support, Adds Tables and Skins for Visual Studio Development
PITTSBURGH, PA - November 19, 2014 - ComponentOne a division of GrapeCity, the largest component solution provider in the Microsoft Visual Studio Partner Ecosystem, today announced a major version release for its Spread product line. ComponentOne Spread Studio 8 is a spreadsheet solution that allows developers to embed powerful spreadsheet functionality similar to Microsoft® Excel® into their .NET applications without any Excel dependencies. The studio collection includes spreadsheet controls for Windows, Web and XAML platforms.

When developing WinForms applications, Spread Studio 8 now includes a powerful Table feature which shows cell ranges as a table. “With the Spread Studio 8 Table control users may manage and analyze data within a defined sheet and this may be completed independently of data in non-selected rows,” said Lawyer.
Beyond the Table control, Spread Studio 8 WinForms controls contain new skins for changing the appearance of controls, including a predefined skin which matches Microsoft Excel 2013.
The new skins extend to the ASP.NET Spread Studio 8 controls and change the default appearance of the controls to a flat style, removing any stylistic choices that give the illusion of 3D (such as drop shadows and gradients). “We understood and focused on a minimalist use of simple elements, typography and flat colors, “said Lawyer. “It is pure, simple, elegant and neat. Spread Studio 8 users will also benefit from being able to use the controls in MVC5 projects and the newly add support for jQuery.”
For developers working in XAML, Spread Studio 8 now provides Print and Print Preview, Structured reference support, and a new control appearance. With the Print feature users may call a method to print an entire or partial worksheet or workbook. Plus, users can now print to a file instead of to a printer. This is useful when a user needs to print a workbook on a different type of printer from the one that he/she originally used to print.
When looking for a smooth UI experience for Excel importing, Spread Studio 8 can now import Excel files asynchronously and load data on demand for UI display. The end user sees the data displaying quickly, and UI is still responsive during loading time.

About James Gosling
James Gosling received a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Calgary, Canada in 1977. He received a PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1983. The title of his thesis was "The Algebraic Manipulation of Constraints". He spent many years as a VP & Fellow at Sun Microsystems.
He has built satellite data acquisition systems, a multiprocessor version of Unix, several compilers, mail systems and window managers. He has also built a WYSIWYG text editor, a constraint based drawing editor and a text editor called `Emacs' for Unix systems.
At Sun, his early activity was as lead engineer of the NeWS window system. He did the original design of the Java programming language and implemented its original compiler and virtual machine. He has been a contributor to the Real-Time Specification for Java, and a researcher at Sun labs where his primary interest was software development tools. He then was the Chief Technology Officer of Sun's Developer Products Group and the CTO of Sun's Client Software Group.
He briefly worked for Oracle after the acquisition of Sun. After a year off, he spent some time at Google. And now James is the chief software architect at Liquid Robotics where he spends his time writing software for the Waveglider, an autonomous ocean-going robot.

Bruno Souza is a Brazilian Java programmer and open source software advocate. He was President of SouJava, a Brazilian Java User Group he helped to establish, which became one of the world's largest. He was one of the initiators of the Apache Harmony project to create a non-proprietary Java virtual machine. The Java community knows him as the "Brazilian JavaMan."
Bruno is a member of the Board of Directors at the Open Source Initiative representing Affiliate members. This is his second term on the OSI Board. He is also a member of the executive committee of the Java Community Process. In 2010, he co-founded ToolsCloud, a developer tools provider.

We are happy to announce the release of Aspose.Tasks for .NET 7.2.0. This month’s release includes a new feature that completely implements code masks for WBS code definition. It always incorporates a number of bug fixes that further improves the overall functionality of the API. This month’s release provides complete support for code mask in WBS code definition. Earlier, there were many fields to be read and written which is now completed. This feature allows the API to read the code mask associated with the WBS code definitions and write these when saving to an output MPP.
