If you want XYZ then go to the language that offers it, don't modify something to try to fit in something it was actually not designed for.
At the end it will end giving more problems that it just had...

Otterkit is a free and open source compiler for the COBOL Programming Language on the .NET platform. Now you can join those cool kids at the COBOL table
And by 'kids', I mean 'greybeards', but they both enjoy pudding cups

I'm glad I never got rid of my COBOL book.
It raises my monitor JUST RIGHT.
I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated.

Tempting, tempting... ..but not enough. I forgot that the nostalgic memory of COBOL was actually a nightmare!

On January 8, 2024, GitHub will remove support for Subversion. I wonder if it's because I'm just finding out GitHub supports Subversion?

At least you had the possibility to find it out...
I wonder how many projects google cancelled that I hadn't even had known (if it were not for you.)

I don't know what subversions are, but kudos to them for getting rid of something that very few must use. Stuff like this clutters up a code base, so it's great when it can be eliminated. Writing code can be fun, but I'm never happier than when I can delete some.

What other mathematical constant is literally used as a benchmark for computing power, or forms the basis for a never-ending worldwide grudge match over who can list the most random digits in the correct order (current record: 111,700)? Just look it up?
355/113 ought to be enough for anybody?

CEO Satya Nadella said in an email to employees that the layoffs would only affect 5% of the company, but would begin this week. "I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign, but it's my destiny to be the king of pain"
Or was it a message in a bottle?

The New York Times reports Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin have discussed its response to ChatGPT, with plans to launch over 20 AI products this year, including a demo of its own search chatbot. Perhaps they should Google how to defeat it?

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has been on a cost-cutting tear over the last six months, shutting down various projects inside the company. Don't think of it as a layoff, just think of it as them cancelling your job

If all the other kids are laying people off, will you do it too?

Platform engineering teams are on the rise, with 94% of respondents to Puppet by Perforce’s 2023 State of DevOps report saying that platform engineering is helping them realize the benefits of DevOps more than before. Once people get around to finding out what it is, maybe
"According to the company, platform engineering is the practice of “designing and building self-service capabilities to minimize cognitive load for developers and to enable fast flow software delivery.”" <-- Yeah, no. That doesn't help me, sorry.
All I really keep thinking is, "Stop trying to make fetch happen! It's not going to happen!"
