Developer burnout is a very real problem, especially in the Great Resignation era and as the demand on IT staff is higher than ever. "We didn't start the fire. No, we didn't light it, but we tried to fight it"

GitHub's Dependabot is becoming more dependable thanks to its newfound ability to tell developers whether its security alerts are relevant or not. "Danger, Will Robinson, danger!"
Not sure if it will warn you about stolen OAuth tokens, or if you can compete with it, but I guess it's otherwise helpful?
Robot seems to be today's theme.

When it comes to the future of intelligent robots, the first question people ask is often: How many jobs will they make disappear? "It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear! And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead!"

New research shows that some bosses can be naturally abusive and use alleged bad job performance as an excuse. Thanks, Sherlock
As I can't use the usual Sherlock expression there, but feel free to read it like that anyway.

While others are still trying to get online, many Americans have had enough of the internet Tune in, turn on, delete profile

This comes as no surprise, given the way some people in the US have lost jobs and careers because of some ill-advised statement that the Internet never forgot.

Not only the US, although job laws make it a bit more difficult in other countries than oversees, but I can't decide yet, if it is a good or a bad thing (at least in some cases).

I honestly don't believe 90% of that half.
They don't want to get rid of Facebook. If that was true, they would have left Facebook already.
They want their smartphone to pick up the geographical map to show the GPS position on the map.
They want to do shopping from their recliner. If they didn't want that, they would visit the physical shops.
They want to access the last series from the streaming providers. Otherwise, they would have crowded the movie theaters.
They want to stream their music favorites. Otherwise, they would have bought CDs.
They want to pick up funny / educational / entertaining movies on YouTube. Otherwise, they wouldn't do it.
They want to read news on the screen rather than on paper. Otherwise, they would buy paper newspapers.
Over half of Americans want all the benefits of internet with none of the downsides.

Cloud-based repository hosting service GitHub on Friday revealed that it discovered evidence of an unnamed adversary capitalizing on stolen OAuth user tokens to unauthorizedly download private data from several organizations. Who needs to pick the lock, when you can download the key?

For many software engineers, working isn’t just about the money or perks. A sizable percentage have entered tech because they want to make the world a better place. But how do they actually want to change things? Tabs over spaces

Technology usually doesn't make the world a better place. People don't usually make the world a better place either. But if you do want to change the world for the better, that change has to come from changing people's habits. IMO, we're entering into a phase where we're looking at technology to solve problems because people won't change their habits. It's a no-win scenario, IMO.

Thecnology does might be a possible solution... If (BIG IF) we manage to create REAL AI, it will probably wipe us from earth, and would be a change for the better of the world (if it's not too late yet)

The human race is far from perfect, but IMO we do have some redeeming qualities.
I'm an optimist. I believe that we are (slowly) growing up as a species, and it would be a shame for anyone (or anything) to terminate the experiment before the end.

A new, more energy efficient transistor may cut global digital energy consumption and make devices smaller and cooler. "You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round"
And of course there had to be magnets involved.

Maybe. We've seen other transistor "replacements" come and go.
