Research report by firm KeyFactor shows many IoT and network devices are using weak digital certificates that make them vulnerable to attack. I guess this means they'll have to move on from using 3d6 to select their keys?

Or maybe 'quantum solace'?

It's long been common knowledge that Qbert can't flip the colour bits quickly enough to get past level 9, so I don't know why we're still wasting our time discussing this.

This group of JEPs is perhaps more interesting that it initially appears - it actually contains two important building blocks of a major set of new features for Java. Did they skip 9-13, or was I just not paying attention?
Something new for me to ignore?

Everything goes so fast nowadays; we don't have enough time to not-give-a-s... about something, that we already have to not-give-a-s... about the next one.

Remarkably, I just searched for Java 13, 12, etc, and there were JDK and SDK downloads for all of them.
I would like to thank oracle for not informing me of this, thereby saving me God-only-knows how many hours of pointless updating.
To show how grateful I am for this, and how much I respect their decision not to inform me, I think I'll continue to not update it until it reaches a nice round number -- 50 sounds good.

Chinese state-sponsored group APT20 has been busy hacking government entities and managed service providers. Oh well, the security was nice while we had it

But security wasn't the real point of 2FA, anyway, so what's the problem?
google, etc, have already got enough of everyone's "second factor" data to be going along with for a while, anyway. They'll think up a similar scam when they want more.

Well... the publication of volume 4b of his 'The Art of Computer Programming' would make a very good present for me!

Pity that the people who would like to have such an information are probably not going to read this post

Microsoft recently confirmed that they will be switching Fast Ring to the active development branch (called “RS_PRERELEASE”). This means that Windows Insiders on Fast Ring will receive new features which are not necessarily tied to a specific Windows 10 update bi-yearly update. Because we need those new icons NOW

Why would ANYONE in their right mind want to use binaries from the active development branch? That's just begging for trouble.
