Government Payment Service Inc -- the company thousands of local governments in the US use to accept online payments for everything from court-ordered fines and licensing fees -- has compromised more than 14 million customer records dating back to 2012, KrebsOnSecurity reports. Fortunately, no one ever has to pay the government

Together with the use of Clang as a viable compiler for production use on Windows for multiple web browsers, all of this leaves the question of how you can benefit from Clang tooling. Sorry, all I can think of is that "trolley song" when someone mentions that compiler

Each release of Windows 10 adds new features and functionality; we also occasionally remove features and functionality, usually because we've added a better option. Here are the details about the features and functionalities that we removed in Windows 10, version 1809. Bad news for fans of 3D word art

From the article: "We've replaced the Hologram app with the Mixed Reality Viewer."
Looks like political correctness has finally invaded the desktop. Reality will be based on how the view identifies itself.

Quote: In Windows 10, version 1809, we're introducing a new universal app, Snip & Sketch, that provides the same screen snipping abilities, as well as additional features. A UWP app? It will be interesting to see how they polish the simplicity-turd into something usable.
(Maybe they will surprise me.)

The proposed Default Interface Methods feature would allow a limited form of multiple inheritance in C#, F#, and other .NET languages. Feature looks less interesting in mirror
Yes, barely a news item - just two forum items mostly.

I just caught myself wondering why you've posted this in "Insider News" instead of the Lounge.
Dave tried (and failed) to become a politician, and was instructed to avoid sites like this after his comments about travellers on Farcebook caused some controversy. He popped up again in QA a couple of months ago, but quickly disappeared again.
Nagy is busy posting rubbish on Twatter drinking gin working, and only pops in occasionally to say hello.

I must confess, that while I had many enjoyable exchanges with DD on CP, I was a little bit glad his attempt to break into politics failed, as we have almost diametrically opposed views on many subjects.
I wish him well though in all other endeavours (in case he lurks occasionally).

DD was working as a bean counter while here.
I don't recall if he was working somewhere small enough to also have been the computer person, or was just an overgrown excel macro.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?
