The cross-platform application development framework Qt is getting stripped down for developers. And they didn't call it "Little Cutie"?

But the thing is, no one would be interested in buying their motives once we get our hands on Xamarin. Secondly, well, I'd leave this one out for you guys to determine.

Google has just announced plans to gradually phase out support for Chrome apps on every platform except for Chrome OS. Aaaah, panic! They're retiring Chrome? Oh wait, just Chrome apps? Whuzzat?
Chrome has apps? Learn something new every day, I guess.

Maybe winding down development of a product line before releasing their new OS perhaps......

Chrome app just contains Chrome extension so just go back to use Chrome to access it. Is it just me??

Their rational is it's not being used much and the web now fills in the gaps the chrome apps solved. So there's no need for them now. Makes sense to me.

This new license offers an alternative to the closed-source and open-core licenses that many startups choose for their software, and, for the first time, Widenius’s new company, MariaDB, is now using it for one of its products. Open-ish source?

I will never touch MySQL or any of its derivatives. And not because of the licensing models.

I got burned by MySQL in the early days -- I don't remember specifically what, I think it had to do with not actually implementing foreign keys, or cascading deletes, or something or other pretty fundamental to good database architecture.
A more thorough set of problems nowadays (not that SQL Server or Oracle doesn't have its problems) is something @thewazz posted on a Slack forum I run. MySQL - Choose Something Else[^]

Several mainstream tech sites this week published details of a purported new Microsoft support tool designed to fix problems with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. After some digging, I can report that it is no such thing. My advice: Stay far away from this "Windows Self Healing Tool." Who would believe something called "Windows Self Healing" anyway?

Oh right, the re-introduction of the BSOD!
As windows 10 disappears under a "We are healing your system please wait" for 15 hours before doing a fast reboot and presenting you with a RAW image of a vertical finger!

Newton’s Roomba is scheduled to clean the living room of his home in Little Rock, Arkansas, at 1.30am each day, so that the family wakes up to a clean space. That all changed this month when his puppy Evie had an accident on the rug during the night, leading to what he described as the “poopocalypse”.
