They think that if they learn a programming language (such as JavaScript, Python or Ruby)
I love how he picked those three.
Programming is hard. It is an engineering discipline. Bootcamps cannot teach you this discipline in the short period of time they allot.
That should be the startup message on every Bootcamp coder's machine.

A team of researchers claim they've developed malware that can extract data from an isolated computer with no internet connection, camera or audio hardware—all by using sounds generated by the machine's processor and cooling fans. "The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind"

No doubt at a bit rate measured in seconds per bit rather than bits per second!

Indeed. The article itself claims a data-rate of some whopping 900 bits/hour

Researchers keep coming up with these, but I don't think Real Life Hackers would use these methods as they are so obtuse and slow, although they may be useful for something, what that something is remains a riddle, wrapped in mystery, inside an enigma.

The metaphorical solid rear-end expulsions have impacted the metaphorical motorized bladed rotating air movement mechanism.
Do questions with multiple question marks annoy you???

If someone has to really collect data over the course of months or years that could be still useful.

If all you want to do is copy the Administrator's password, then 900 bits/hour would be adequate for any password I've ever used (15 characters == 120 bits).
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

If they get that close to my computer, they might as well just pick it up and walk out the house with it.

That is cool way for get data out of air-gapped PC, but what can be a target here? Their method requires so much access that the method itself is not necessary. So someone has to install the malware on that air-gapped PC (so direct access without audit) AND place listening device in the same room? That is pretty much compromised PC anyway.
Also good luck doing it on server rack with quite a few other cooling fans and blowing air conditioning

"no internet connection, camera or audio hardware"
Which means they have physical access and possibly administrative access, but then extract the data using a method which is extremely slow requires the receiver to be in close proximity.
