The Docker platform is one of the most versatile means for developers and IT to create and test their application software through multiple devices. Now everyone can do whatever it is that Docker does

Government can give you nothing but what it takes from somebody else. A government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take everything you've got, including your freedom.-Ezra Taft Benson

Docker is a container based OS virtualization application. Essentially allows developers to test on multiple OSs (multiple distros and releases) with the same hardware. It's lighter and faster than a traditional virtual machine. It can also be used to "sandbox" services and users for security reasons.

If you’ve ever turned to the interwebs when feeling sick you may have started worrying you had a deathly, flesh-eating virus instead of the common cold. Google aims to eliminate some of that anxiety and confusion in the following days with a few tweaks to the Google app. What does this rash look like to you?

To make sure you’ll be able to jog your memory quickly, you might want to go for an actual jog a little after learning something. Does "getting out of my chair to get coffee" count as a workout?

That would be great if I could remember what it was I was supposed to be doing four hours after first intending to do it!
I am not a number. I am a ... no, wait!

Defense Department-funded researchers at the University of California, Davis, and IBM have built a 1,000-processor chip that they say is the most energy-efficient many-core processor ever built. Yes, I imagine it does run Crysis

I really don't care about 1000 cores, just give me one with 16 cores that can last at least a week on a charge.
I'd rather be phishing!

So why does the picture show those heavy duty cables that look like what you'd use to jump start a car and can handle several hundred amps?

I "love" articles like this; the hidden gem is that to make the chip where it "could" run off a AA battery they took it from "1.78 trillion instructions per second" to "115 billion instructions per second." In other words, they reinvented SingleStep.

Using a power efficient browser is one of the best ways to get more out of your PC or tablet – whether you’re checking email, shopping online, playing games, or watching movies. Because that's definitely what I look for in a browser

"There is no U.S.-made system that comes close to the performance of China's new system, the Sunway TaihuLight. Its theoretical peak performance is 124.5 petaflops, according to the latest biannual release today of the world's Top500 supercomputers. It is the first system to exceed 100 petaflops. A petaflop equals one thousand trillion (one quadrillion) sustained floating-point operations per second."
"TaihuLight, which is installed at China's National Supercomputing Center in Wuxi, uses ShenWei CPUs developed by Jiangnan Computing Research Lab in Wuxi. The operating system is a Linux-based Chinese system called Sunway Raise." [^]
«There is a spectrum, from "clearly desirable behaviour," to "possibly dodgy behavior that still makes some sense," to "clearly undesirable behavior." We try to make the latter into warnings or, better, errors. But stuff that is in the middle category you don’t want to restrict unless there is a clear way to work around it.» Eric Lippert, May 14, 2008

In the wake of last year’s downsizing in Oracle’s Java evangelism as well as their earlier announcement that they would be suspending future major releases of GlassFish server and limiting support, a group of Java standard bearers calling themselves the Java EE Guardians formulated a charter declaring their intent to come to the rescue of Java EE. "Avengers Assemble!"

Are you a good programmer? Are you above average as a software developer? I’m almost sure that your answer is yes. Most programmers feel like that. But, of course, if most programmers think they are above average, many of them are wrong… The first rule of Dunning-Kruger club is that you don't know you're in Dunning-Kruger club
