It sounded familiar to me as well. I might seem a little alarmist, but the notion of a satellite broadcasting microwaves onto my head sounds a little unpleasant.
I imagine those kind of details have been worked out, and the chance is small that Nero could get a hold of it along with some red matter to blow up our planet.
