What? Span is a optimization feature?
Tell that the CP editor...
I know, I know, not exactly the same "span"

Sure! Using quicksort rather than bubble sort is another optimizing technique.

Have idiots trying to get fake internet points discovered they can use it to post plausible looking nonsense as QA answers yet?
It's become enough of a problem at Stackoverflow that they've had to put a ban on ChatGPT generated answers because the people abusing it are doing so in sufficient volume to swamp the sites volunteer moderators: Both due to the sheer volume of crap they're posting even in the face of rate limits, and because unlike 99% of human written garbage answers they're not bad enough to be immediately obvious even in platforms you're familiar with.

How will they be able to tell? There are enough "confidently incorrect" answers on there, it would be hard to pick out the generated ones.

biological Dunning-Kruger posts tend to also have broken grammar, bad spelling, be 1 or 2 lines of code with no explanation, just be a link to some random site, or some combination of the prior. Most of them can be shovelled into the delete pile with a few seconds of examination even if it's not a language I'm familiar with. GPT's 🐂💩 is the much rarer sort of bad answer that's written at least half-decently and is subtlety wrong.
For the moment at least, it's consistent way of describing the question it's trying to answer at the start of it's output at least means there's an obvious tell for human reviewers trying to enforce the ban. But that requires the reviewer to be aware of the issue and paying attention; and while theoretically a good target for automation, SO's management doesn't want to be bothered doing it themselves, are are stubbornly opposed to allowing fully automatic user tools to run. Which results in grotesque things like the main anti-spam detection system being a 3rd party bot that posts messages it finds in a chatroom for people to manually confirm is spam and delete. Since it started running a few years ago most spam has basically stopped ever lasting long enough to be seen by normal users; but it's still bottlenecked behind user action and not direct API access.

Once you come up with the idea of creating a software product and have proof of concept, you can start thinking about how much it takes to bring it to life. About that long, give or take
At least for 85% of it

I like analogies, maybe hype fixate one week and do a blog explain things through analogy
Time Estimate, let me explain like asking "how long do YOU think will take to walk across town"
quick only map suggestion: 1 hour.
individual personal, I walk a bit faster or slower.
then you hit the timer and clock running. oh, forgot where my house key is, +5 min.
bump into someone and decide to chat, +10 min.
notice a new side street that you had heard about but didn't know when was going to be finished -15 min.
traffic lights all ready this day +10min
and that crossing you usually take, just car after car going by. +10min
result 1:20
well add 2 people and will take half the time 🤔
how ever if part of the journey requires carrying a bag across town, then having 2 people can help.
except person 2 always shoe coming undone every 10 mins, only 10seconds to redo, but adds up, knocks the flow.
how long SHOULD it take vs how long CAN or WILL it take. throw money to hit a deadline.
retro speck, and track your own time is very important in improving your estimations. something I lack doing, when going day to day, week to week on next task, with zero retros planned.
