After a dense presentation about the undeniably impressive work Tesla is doing with AI, the company’s self-anointed Technoking, Elon Musk, capped the evening by bringing out a dancer in a spandex suit. Behold, said Musk: my Tesla Bot. I don't seem to get the punchline

The brain organoids developed optic structures that reacted to light, but they're not conscious. This always seems to work out for the best in the movies

They're growing politicians! (The operative phrase being brain-like.)

That would be a crime against Humanity.
Fortunately, there is no evidence that these brains are bribeable corruptocrats lacking any shred of integrity.
EDIT: I am an equal-opprtunity despiser of politicians. I despise all politicians of any nationality, party, sex, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or any other category you may think of.

You are not alone. I feel the same way. Just this afternoon, SWMBO asked me "How can you tell the good ones from the bad ones?".
I patiently explained they are ALL Bad.

Another week, another story of technologists enduring a gauntlet of “crunch time” to finish a project. Only if by "crunch time" you mean "free chips (crisps) at the team meeting"
|
|
|
|

Experienced software developers are quite good at estimating small tasks, or estimating small subtasks in a larger task. The issue for a large project is that it's impossible to list all subtasks a priori.
No, "crunch time" is usually necessary because of "feature creep", which we are notoriously bad at resisting
