Websites that enable Cloudflare’s Always Online service will now have their content automatically archived, and if by chance the original host is not available to Cloudflare, then the Internet Archive will step in to make sure the pages get through to users. "Where are we going today, Mr. Peabody?"

Now out of beta and available for everyone, GitHub CLI 1.0 brings GitHub to the terminal where developers can manage their own workflows. Now instead of using the command-line for git, you can use the command-line!
Yes, it does way more than you can do with the regular git.exe, but I still want to make fun of it. Please and thank you.

My idea of a learning organization is one that focuses on what we learned from the incident and the improvements that come from it. "Pain is the greatest teacher"

I agree, but letting everyone having the very same mistakes again is a waste of time and resources too.
There is people that can learn from the errors of others too, if those are explained properly.

A single day’s notice is a big departure from the company’s usual approach, where developers are given about a week’s notice to put the finishing touches on their apps ahead of the major operating system release. I've heard of short dev cycles, but one day seems excessive
It's not like they didn't know it was coming soon. There were ... nine? beta releases.

Most IT leaders believe their organization doesn't have what it takes to enable its workforce to achieve maximum productivity levels. 'Tis time for the lash!
|
|
|
|
|
And I wonder... why is that so?
Probably because most IT decisions are not now under the sales / accounting department?
And even when they are still not there... how many IT departments do take decisions to actually increase productivity?
90% of the time is:
- "you can't do that"
- "Ok, I won't, but how can i achieve X"
- "I don't know, but not like this"
Or
Let's block everything up and don't let the developers do their job, because the secretary of XXX department just clicked on a link of a malicious email.
EDIT: Typo

Facebook today announced Infinite Office, a collection of new features that will allow you to create a virtual office space to become more productive. It's good that you won't be in a real office, because people would make fun of that headset you're wearing

Microsoft unveils MRT Core resource loader for Project Reunion, its effort to fix problems with Win32 and UWP apps. Because you looked like you needed a new resource loader
How else will you be able to load all those new icons they're working on?

Also note that they say "its effort to fix problems" and not say "the solution to problems" so... I suppose they are going to break even more thing while trying to fix those.

I am not a visionary, but there are projects where you can see the future meltdown since the very start
and I am being "asked" to accept one of those
