Face masks are one of the best defenses against the spread of COVID-19, but their growing adoption is having a second, unintended effect: breaking facial recognition algorithms. "Who was that masked man?"

What we need are face masks with holes in them.
Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.

I don't precisely like Musk, but I partially share some of his concern...
Seeing how much are we relying in the computers / software for critical things (military, health system, government stuff...) and seeing the detriment of quality over benefits...
we are surely going to have problems of some kind due to computers / algorithms / something tech-related, that's something a bit more plausible than being overtaken by an AI.
Not because we would not be overtaken by an AI, it is just that I really doubt we will have a true working AI in the next generation. But IF it comes, then when it comes... we will have very few chances.

Me: "Puts on face mask."

I think we're good for now

The U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) has announced a plan to make a quantum internet it says is virtually unhackable. Why not just paint a big target on it while you're at it?
Or are they calling it unhackable with sarcasm?

Sarcasm would be more like...
Someone said: a plan to make a quantum internet it says is virtually unhackable. until the next moment they look at it, then it will have a security hole bigger than the Mount Everest.

MS renamed CDS to Dataflex Pro. It will get a new name soon as Dataflex is a trademark owned by DataAccess. This shows how much homework MS did in announcing this.
