This week saw a couple of improvements to Rubberduck, a project to upgrade the Visual Basic Editor (VBE) and "Bring the VBE into this century!" "You can't kill me, I'm already dead"

VBE? "Rubberduck"? A Newton's cradle made of lightbulbs?

You’ll find many articles online describing how to create very detailed design documents covering things like business requirements, data design, UI mockups, class diagrams… Most developers however will shy away from them. "Call me, call me in a sweet design"

File explorer search is now powered by Windows Search. Here is how the search experience has been improved in version 2004. Looking forward to new Indexing error messages

That's great for people who have SSDs, so have to turn the search indexer off.
And, now that I think about it, I don't recall ever seeing a tablet that has a disk drive advertised, so it's especially great that they're particularly targeting tablets with this great new innovation.
Once again, ms is right on the ball (if by "right on the ball" you mean "10 years behind the hardware").

Microsoft announced today that starting with Microsoft Edge 80.0.338.0 users will be able to have potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) automatically blocked from downloading. Like Chrome and Firefox?

Microsoft classifies a multitude of program categories as PUAs such as apps that would use your device to mine cryptocurrency, to display ads, promotions, or survey prompts, or that have poor industry reputation. Would that include WordPad, which purportedly will be pushing users to buy Word?

Microsoft announced today that starting with Microsoft Edge 80.0.338.0 Amazing that we are coming up to v80, as it took almost 20 years for IE to get to v11

Microsoft's roadmap for developing Windows applications is opposed by some programmers who want to see a cross-platform solution, rather than just being Windows-only. Too late to bring back Silverlight?

WinForms apps are generally fugly on high-DPI displays though.

Anyway, they are only ugly if you make them ugly as with all applications - especially those written for the various webby-style environments such as anything on apple or many websites that think that wasting space so that you have to have a huge HD screen just to see all the information is a good thing!

Yes, it's an abbreviation for F*ing ugly.
Too many WinForms apps on high DPI displays scale badly, causing ridiculously small text displays. Later GUI technologies have adapted to automatically scale, but I've had to use bits of software that are almost unreadable.
