How blockchain, NLP, AI-driven tools, machine learning, serverless computing, and devops innovations will change life for developers in 2018. My predictions include: complaints about JavaScript, complaints about CSS, and about 63 new JavaScript frameworks that are the moose's caboose

Coming to Devops-Developers working in multiple projects can work together and can check in their code simultaneously without taking latest of files and finally pull requests has to be triggered and team lead has to merge all code changes.By implementing this practice no one will be in silo and we call it as a feature Continuous Integration. Now to make sure a continuous deployment to happen your project should pass your unit test cases.By implementing Test driven development you can make sure there are no unit test fails and you can move to the higher versions as per your need. There are also auto commit builds features are present in DevOps tools which makes project coordinators or managers life easier. This technology wouldn't cut jobs rather make sure to use existing testing resources to write code and automate the test by using tools based features. If application module is large then testers can also write unit test cases and pass them to implement a through checkpoint before application moves to higher environment.
AI- driven tools development will be one of the hot cake in 2018.BOTS/chart tools creation will obviously cut repetitive jobs that basically needs human support. The BOT/Chart should mature itself by taking more requests then they can perform the accurate actions. This must take time hence human resources who are in this field can upgrade themselves before this tools gets a full swing.
Machine Learning-This can be divided into Supervised and un supervised algorithms and a key driver for implementing AI.Data scientists will have a great role in implementing algorithms and core developers can get opportunity to write the code that implement these algorithms.
Natural language processing needs some time though and i don't feel there will be huge amount of job. This job will be limited with companies like Microsoft,Google,Apple or any kind of ISV's. Candidate with this niche skill is rare in market and if there is a surge then right people with this experience will get opportunity to grow themselves.I believe those who want a fresh start in this field has to crack in the above mentioned companies.

Intel has "already issued updates for the majority of processor products introduced within the past five years," per the company press release, and expects to have 90 percent of affected chips produced within the past five years patched by the end of the week. Well, allrighty then, problem solved. Moving on.
Say... I don't remember patching my CPU, do you?

One question remains: which 90%?

Intel claims sale was unrelated, but he planned sale after researchers disclosed bugs. What a coincidence!

Is he going to pay for the bug-damage himself?

I doubt it.
However, this appears to be a textbook case of insider trading. I expect the SEC to come down on him like a ton of bricks.
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

The key thing software companies and developers need to focus on when developing a new product is not writing more code. Is this another one of those sneaky, "test first" articles?

(Didn't read it.)
If you want to use reusable code, you first have to write reusable code.

It is more of a call to DDD (Domain Driven Design) than TDD (Test Driven Development) as the latter is still code.

In a recent paper published in the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research, computer scientists Ani Nenkova and Yinfei Yang, of Google and the University of Pennsylvania, respectively, describe a new machine learning approach to classifying written journalism according to a formalized idea of “content density.” Oh great, now the AI are coming for my job
OK, that's a lie - I never post stuff with actual information

It'll be amusing to have that AI score the news stories that another AI writes.

The Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search (GIMPS) has discovered the largest known prime number, 277,232,917-1, having 23,249,425 digits. Is there nothing that graphics program can't do?

Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

It's a prime number not a bold one...

Which begs the question why Amazon Prime costs 99 dollars when clearly it should either be 97 or 101...I won't even eat a prime steak unless it weighs 17 ounces, or watch primetime tv unless the channel is a prime number and that is only during the 7 o'clock hour which is also 19 o'clock military time. Call me a math purist.
