Years ago, I was working a lot on Suns. They didn't get very hot at all.
We did obtain an Alpha. You could fry your steak on that one. (Rumors are than up until the last prototype before commercial release, its power supply was so hefty that it required three-phase AC power.)

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you

There actually is one for M$ too, but I didn't think it was super funny.

Oh, I didn't know. I've never seen these before. Interesting.

I was Googling for something the other day, and found the answer on SO. And, to be fair, although the question was a little 'loose', the answer was clear and politely given.

I have been finding solutions to real world software dev problems on SO since Stack Overflow's inception. I think most of us have. I would not be surprised if code project devs use stack overflow as well.
I find that a lot of the users at SO are prima donnas.

I look for answers, and use the first one I find that works in my situation. Sometimes it comes from stack overflow, sometimes it comes from codeproject. I am answer-source-agnostic.

Ditto but sometimes you gotta really twist Googles arm.

I agree with you. Asking questions though, you're likely to get a warmer reception here, at least if you have put in effort.

I actually browse down the list for someplace else to look.
In part, some distorted concept of CP loyalty.
In part, because so often I've seen gibberish replies and 'already asked, go away' type of answers.
Fortunately, I have never had to ask a question in "forum".

Have gone there and got a lot of good info...but they're a bunch of arrogant arses.

That's my problem with them - they turn everything into a "p*ssing contest" instead of trying to educate people.

Yeah, that's why I never ask a question, I just look at the answers already provided and pick the one I judge will work best for me. I have rarely failed to find what I need and don't get involved in the p*ssing contests - although I do see them in passing.

But the community in CP is not comparable. Despite the occasional problems, I still think CP has one of the best communities in the internet.

I've found a number of answers, or at least help that pointed me in the right direction, on stackoverflow.
I have not, however, been able to post a question. The first time I tried the question was closed and marked as "improper" with no explanation within minutes of my posting it. The second one the question disappeared without a trace. I think it was deleted by a moderator.
I have no compunctions about using information I glean on SO. They can go themselves with a pitchfork sideways before I'll ever try asking another question or posting responses.
