Hi All,
My quest to get out of the pub(?). I had a telephone interview (unsuccessful) for a VB6 programmer (!). Basically a company uses a VB6 backbone and are updating to a .NET modern system but need to keep the VB6 up and running until the new shiney .NET takes over. Lots of .NET talking to COM headaches.
In prepartion I tried to install VS6 and bang(!). Couldn't get it installed... Will it install on 10 or has my PC just choked??

The real reason it's hard to install is that even Win10 tries to vomit when VB6 gets too close ...

Are you on a 64 bit version of Windows 10? If so you won't be able to install VS 6. The reason is Windows 10 x64 no longer supports 16 bit applications and the VS 6 setup program is a 16 bit application.
What you can do though, is create a VM using Hyper-V and install XP on it and then install VS 6 in that VM.

So, you can, Installed XP emmulation but not really used it.

If it's the fact that 64-bit OSes don't support 16-bit processes that's the impediment, why not install the 32-bit version of Win10, instead of going all the way back to XP?

I had a similar experience and used VirtualBox running XP.
I'm not sure how many cookies it makes to be happy, but so far it's not 27.

Yeah, VB6 will install on Windows 10. I had to do this last year. Various articles online explaining this, including the one that Griff pointed out.
We had the same scenario, needed to get access to the original source code in order to port over to current .Net C#. That was a nightmare, let me tell you.
I am amazed at how many production systems still run VB6 apps.

The UK Police use or used a system of VB6 talking to a Database, so wanted some one like Billy Tables (from XKCD) to get arrested to see if would handle that...

OTVDM or download portable VB6 (search google)

VS6 will install and run just fine on Win10, even 64-bit.

I just heard of this: New Google feature lets you search for songs just by humming them | The Independent[^] and I have to say, it's pretty impressive stuff with actual songs - it takes very few bars to identify a song correctly.
It even got "The Expanse theme" and "Geralt of Rivia" from the Witcher game.
Then I tried to sing to it.
My phone turned itself off, and is proving reluctant to power up again - I think I scared it ...

Mine's Broken it just keeps saying "John Cage - 4'22"
[Edit]
NVM - my microphone was switched off.

I tried humming that one, but I might've been off-key

Bomfunk MC's - Back To Back[^]
A blast from the past!
The Finnish Bomfunk MC's had an international hit with Freestyler, back in 1999/2000.
I know they released at least two more music video's, B-Boys & Fly Girls and Super Electric, but they were hardly shown on MTV, at least in the Netherlands.
Super Electric was from their second album, Burnin' Sneakers.
While their first album, In Stereo, was an international hit, Burnin' Sneakers didn't get much international attention.
Maybe because of the CD's DRM protection, which prevented me from listening to it in the car and on some stereo's (luckily that DRM protection didn't become a thing!).
I've listened to In Stereo a lot back in the day, but this week I decided to give Burnin' Sneakers another listen and it has some cool tracks, among which this one which gets me pretty pumped.
Apparently, they stopped after their third album, in 2005, but they're back together since 2018.
