Yes.
And it's the main reason that YouTube declared war on adblockers a year or so ago. The ad blockers keep working round them though, and I hear - though it's difficult to get actual numbers - that use of adblockers has become higher since the war was declared, with more people using them than before the war started ... probably not the intent!
I run an ad blocker, and will white list "good sites" - ones that are ad financed, but not greedy. CP is whitelisted for that reason. Youtube is not - any site that shows a "blocked ads count" of 50+ on a single page isn't going to get a whitelist from me!

OK, just for my education.
There are u-tube posts whose " explain " task in kindergarten level, ... it works better when you plug it in ... just "generating / taking more space / time " . How do these "free lance / self proclaimed experts in anything get payed?
My guess is nobody bothers to actually verify these "u-tube university" experts.
Free enterprise at "caveat emptor " level.
Thanks
PS
I sure like to hear from professional teachers, folks who make a living actually teaching, at any level...
but I may be pushing my flaming free streak....
cheers

You are asking for a sort of censorship based on an idea that "someone" must know what is right and what is wrong. I am sort of skeptical to that very idea. Some people start their "Social" channels, proclaiming it to deliver the "Truth", according to their own concept of "Truth". I do not trust that "Truth" very much, to be honest.
I don't even trust research reports from recognized universities or research institution to always convey truth. Even if it may be "true" in some sense, it can very well be quite biased, both in the information selected for presentation, and how the presentation is made. Your hope for true, unbiased, university level 100% reliable information (well, you didn't make all those requirements ) as the only stuff to come through the YouTube censorship is, unfortunately(?) somewhat naïve.
There are no doubt a huge number of mediocre or outright bad "explanations" on YouTube. I very rarely find any useful there. Also, the photography and editing is often even worse than the contents. Wikipedia is similar: Lots of the explanations aren't worth a lot (although Wikipedia is not as bad as YouTube). Here as well: Editing is often far below par, and the writers frequently doesn't master their language very well.

"Some"?
To my mind that means to some extent a 'small' number.
Rather certain that many channels are extolling that something is better than others.

You find a few religious people who declare that they know The Universal Truth. Maybe you will one day run across a politician of a similar conviction - any sufficiently demagogical politics is indistinguishable from religion, as the saying goes.

Sometimes, in long videos, YouTube insert commercial breaks in the middle of the presentation. When I experience this, I immediately interrupt, and start a download of the video: In all cases where I have done this, the downloaded video is uninterrupted, no commercial break.
And then: There is a similar race between YouTube and download software. Every now and then, I want to download videos, but it fails (while other videos download fine). If I update my downloader, it might successfully download. The more outdated the downloader, the more videos it fails to download.

I suspect that at some point YT will start embedding their own ads into the original video, so even the stream you download will contain those ads. I'm sure this'll be dynamic so the ads you see will still be tailored to what "the algo" thinks match your interests.
There's already some of that; some content authors embed their own ads in their own videos...typically, YT will put up a banner that says "this content includes paid promotions". Which really means somebody paid for those promotions, but in those cases the money didn't go to YT.
Then the best is when those paid ads themselves get interrupted mid-sentence by YT's own ads...

dandy72 wrote: I suspect that at some point YT will start embedding their own ads into the original video First time I downloaded a YT video with 'commercial breaks', I was prepared for loading it into a video editor to chop out the ads. I was delighted to discover that it wasn't necessary.
If I spend half an hour or more to see a YT video, it is because I find it important. Maybe I will even keep the video in my private archive for the future. If YT starts embedding videos that way, I may think it worth the effort do edit out the commercials before putting the video into the archive.

A classic for sure.
I'm gonna have to re-watch that movie at some point.

I am thankful for our troops, but I often think of this song regarding the consequences of war.
Bob Dylan - John Brown - YouTube[^]

True, as is Bob Dylan - Blowin' in the Wind (Official Audio) - YouTube[^], sadly.

But the troops have been sent there and have to survive and have little opportunity to think about a Bob Dylan song
I am ashamed that others risk their lives for 'me'.

Yes, they've been sent in harms way unfortunately, a time when this is unnecessary, it seems is a delusional thought.

"Me" in quotes is right, because they risk their lives for deranged neocons, something that has long been bipartisan.

'They' risk/spend their lives in ww2 when I was not yet alive. And I thank all of them

True, though WW2 likely wouldn't have occurred if the US hadn't intervened in WW1, tipped a stalemate to the Allies, who imposed draconian war reparations on Germany, leading to the Weimar hyperinflation and the rise of Hitler.

Where do I enlist? Catchy Tune. Must investigate AC/DC.

Non native English at that side, please elaborate

Your English seems fine.
AC/DC is Australian. I assume their English is swell mate.
The site is by a Ukrainian. I do not know his English proficiency.
"that side"? What side is that?
As for elaboration I can only assume "Where do I enlist?" may be of some confusion. It asks where do I sign up to the military so I can fly those fantastic machines just like Tom Cruise does.
