Coming home from work today I found that my Raspberry Pi had finally arrived. Setting it up was easy as pie and since I've already spent last week setting up a QEmu environment running the wheezy distribution, I'm all set to try out those test programs I've already made on the real hardware. Let the fun begin!
BTW this message was posted from the Midori browser which comes with the desktop.
Cheers!

Let us know how it goes. Hope it's as much fun as the old time zx81. I really want one!

So far so good! Headless operation is already in place. I'm now accessing the console via SSH with putty and the XMing Xserver running on my dev machine nicely displays x-applications launched on the Raspberry Pi in a window.
I'm still wrestling with access to some shares on my dev machine via smbclient though. I hope I'll get that sorted out soon.
Cheers!

I will for sure and I also have a strong feeling there will be an article at the end of it all.
This message got posted from the Midori browser running on the Raspberry Pi and displyed by the XMing xserver running on my dev machine. Oh the fun to be had with all this.
Cheers!

It's always a rush when it works the way it's supposed to, ain't that why we do it?

Thank you very much. Now I have hankering for pie. Or maybe some cake. Yeah, cheesecake.
