If you get an email telling you that you can catch Swine Flu from tinned pork then just delete it. It's Spam.
The problem at the moment is the COM1 port (MMJ) on the 800; it has been flaky since I got it, and I think it finally wore out. I'm trying to use the 9-pin MODEM port for the console now. At least I have a manual for the 800.

I had a semester of Lisp; it's ridiculous. Probably suited to something, but not general software development. Other languages don't "lack" whatever Lisp has; they are just better suited to more common tasks.

That sounds like Ye Olde VAX BASIC's interactive mode -- DEC/HP BASIC has since dropped it.
