Now, because some iteration of busybody has decided to stop spam reaching my mailbox, I'm stuck with nothing to do for the God-only-knows how many seconds it takes for the coffee machine to finish! (The period is measured in units of spam-deletion, not seconds.)

Now, even with going back to the old driver I'm still having the flicker issue. I upgraded back to the June 2016 version of the driver and now -- even as I'm typing this it began flickering.
Anyways, the screen went blank for a minute and I couldn't get it back. I finally pressed my laptop's FN button along with the F(key -- appropriately named in this situation) which is supposed to switch video to an alternate out and the video came back.
I never had this problem under Win7 or even win8.
Rebooting and hoping...
Amazed! Been running for hours now with only a slight flicker or two. New way of M$ getting us to reboot, I guess.
I think maybe the Graphics Drivers get too hot and tired and rebooting fixes this.
Defrag-reboot fixes everything. I've also moved the mouse to left side of my laptop because I could tell that I had some serious Guassian build-up on the right.
