Don't we? Friday night in the parking lot after a few beers gets quite violent.

I didn't say we don't have any. In the UK have been stabbed on two separate occasions and beaten up at least once (that I remember). I still don't condone it! In the US I have only been shot at once - luckily by a bad shot!

I'd go, but I couldn't condone the dress-code: black tie clearly in the middle of the day, allowing someone to take their jacket off and leaving the waistcoat (double horror- the bottom button is done up) and what can only be described as zoot-suits.

I would love to go but Mater and Pater are having a Golden Wedding Anniversary party that very day. Rather unfortunate but they have been looking forward t it for some time.

They've been looking forward to The Chap Olympiad? Give them the tickets - rather a nice additional gift for the anniversary!

I'm I strange (amongst men, I understand women are wired differently when it comes to babies, or maybe female coders are not)?
I have absolutely no interest in other people having babies. I cannot fake interest. I am generally pleased (for them) that they have a healthy one, but beyond that.
When I had a child of my own I just assumed that no-one else (not immediately related to it) would be interested in the fact.
Of course this was before Facebook, of which more later.
One of my wife's oldest and bestest friends had another child yesterday. Her husband is an old friend of mine. I'm in trouble for not being interested enough, despite the fact I haven't been interested in any of the other babies that I have been told about whilst we have been married. I cannot form an opinion beyond "that's another present I'm gonna have to fork out for".
Even more irksome is being shown a photo of a baby with half the innards still all over it and being asked "who do you think it looks like?". Well it looks like a f***ing baby, just like every other f***ing baby I've ever seen.
We're supposed to go and look at the new baby on Sunday. I've seen babies before, I've even seen a photo of this one, they don't do anything, and if it isn't your own then watching it sleep (or even worse when awake) is not a fun thing to do. Plus there will be loads of other people there, most of them excited, some of them bored and uncomfortable, wishing for a better chair, more space, and to be allowed to go home.
I understand people get excited when they have a baby, I understand them wanting to tell the world, I don't begrudge anyone publishing the fact on here, or on Facebook.
At least on here they stop at an announcement. Unlike Facebook.
Seriously, some people must force FB into buying a new server each time they spawn the amount of tedious shite they publish. How many photos does anyone need of a child in its earliest months? I've got loads of my own, they're nearly all the same, and by the same I mean boring.
Can back to me when your child does something interesting. Things that are not interesting include shitting in a potty.
I think I'll suggest someone (me) better stop at home with the dog on Sunday, unfair to leave him on his own all day.
Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them.

Are you telling me that you didn't finished the 10 ton photo-album just sent you?! Shame on you!
I for myself keep my kids safe whenever such event pops-up. These kind of visits are always at the evening an me kids are have to be in bed at 19:00 so they can't come, so I can't come... . Not that a dislike these occasions - I loathe them...
I'm not questioning your powers of observation; I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is. (V)

It's a shame it's not their first baby. You know that somewhere around 3 days a baby has it's first real big clean the bowels out poo. For first time parents this is a must see moment. Not the baby but the parents. They just don't know how to react with the total sensory overload of that first greeny-black, treacle thick, swamp stinking slime poo.
I think it's the contest between the eyes and nose over who gets to shut down first to protect the brain.
