I badly want to post it but it's thousands and thousands of lines of code
My suggestion would be to first upload (well-documented) code to Github, and then write one or more articles. Start with a small .md, then expand that as time permits. But yes, it does require a time commitment, which is precisely why I haven't (yet) open sourced several of my large (and extensively used) apps.
I wrote something along those lines I call my GLplayground. I use it for messing around with OpenGL. The framework makes it very easy to add a new experiment : add a button to the menu and implement a new object class with just a few methods and it's ready to go. The other day I added a new experiment in about an hour which is exactly why I made the whole thing in the first place. It's rather trailing edge technology so I expect very little interest in it but it makes some really cool images.
Maybe if you make yours flexible enough other people will want to use it for their own experiments. That is, if there are any other people who do those kinds of experiments. I wouldn't know.
