yes, i do get micro-sleep episodes where verses with 5/7/5 syllables appear: perhaps related to syncope (passing out, or almost passing out), and yes, i've had scans of brain, carotid. adrenal plumbing, heart. thyroid, etc.

Logic urges resistance
but it is futile.
My sorry attempt above just means that I think AI will become a ubiquitous norm. But, I think we're heading toward the peak of a hype cycle now. So, like you, I have healthy dose of skepticism at least for the time being. After we live through the so-called trough of disillusionment then we'll see what we have going forward. Just my (maybe not so) humble opinion.

There is no real AI yet. The hype we had was about a story generator that learns from the internet. Meaning, not everything is correct.
The progress is more in chatbots than AI.

Hi,
I've put a Coral TPU (PCIe) in my server, passed it to the Codeproject AI VM and run the docker in "priviledged: true" so it has access to all devices on the VM
Coral is available in the Ubuntu VM:
02:01.0 SATA controller: VMware SATA AHCI controller
03:00.0 Ethernet controller: VMware VMXNET3 Ethernet Controller (rev 01)
0b:00.0 System peripheral: Global Unichip Corp. Coral Edge TPU
I've installed the Coral TPU module in the AI server via the web interface.
However, on the status page it still says: Not enabled
(That's the point where I look how to insert an image here)
So, it shows:
Face processing: Started
Object Detection (YOLOv5 .NET): Not enabled
Object Detection (YOLOv5 6.2): Started
ObjectDetection (Coral): Not enabled
How can I switch to use the Coral now?
