So I made this nifty little MRU list and made it so MRU files are shown on the taskbar menu when you right click on the app's taskbar entry. This is not as easy as one would think.
At any rate, there's supposed to be an win32 method you can call called "SHAddToRecentDocs" that's supposed to let explorer/winshell know when you've opened a file or saved a file in your app and it should go in the MRU.
Despite my calling this, my taskbar MRU list managed by windows is not the same as the MRU list in my app (which is more complete)
this confounds me.
The Microsoft function does not work as advertised. Who coulda known?
When I was growin' up, I was the smartest kid I knew. Maybe that was just because I didn't know that many kids. All I know is now I feel the opposite.
The Microsoft issue doesn't surprise me, but what does shock me is that my granddaughter went to DEFCON in Las Vegas with her Dad and had a blast soaking up everything on cryptography. She competed in a code reaking contest and came in 4th place.
I ghuess she's well on her way to being a real hacker threat!
She's planning on goping to Rice
University and studying Electrical and Computer Engineering with a Masters in cryptography.
She's not grandpa's little girl anymore!
