I intend to discuss it with my doctor next time I'm there as we have a young child but I'm not concerned enough to go to the doctor specifically for that. I did go and get a mumps vaccination a few months ago as there was an outbreak here and the government sponsored vaccination of all parents of small children.

Have gotten ill from swine flu?
Nope and I dont know anyone who has. I did hear of a friend of a friend who said it was a worse experience than her chemotherapy. Take that with a grain of salt I reckon.
I get a flu shot every year which my employer provides (its not compulsory)
H1N1 is the most common type of flu. It is the virus most people get, albeit various strains, I wish people would just shut the F& up about it. The only reason it is in the news is because the economy is in the toilet, the stimulus isn't working, home prices aren't falling (heck the Government is trying to RETAIN there value) from their ridiculously high prices, and it turns out was is inevitable so the prez is like a drunken frat boy telling a well crafted lie to a co-ed ... I am not going to say the punch line so as not to offend. (It is a two word form of birth control with the first letters, P and O). Any way I don't want to get political because I think no matter who would have been elected we would still be listening to this H1N1 crap because it keeps the dumb masses from focusing on real problems.
BTW, I get get a flu shot. The last two I got in H.S. (they were required) nearly killed me. In fact, I don't think I have ever had the flu except for the two times I got the flu shot.
How does someone either 5 vote or 1 vote you for telling what happened in simple terms?
'No' 'No' 'Yes, I think I got it from friends/family'
How do people vote that down?
Were you lying about it and someone knows?
Maybe I'm slow here, lets look deeper.
Was there some underlying political or sexual word-code in your post that I missed?
'Checked-out' clearly sexual explicit reference to women, so you are a sexist and a homophobe.
'Verified' - must be for ID checks at voting poles, so you are also racist.
Man, all this time I was just reading the surface of your posts - what kind of swill have you been passing around here as opinions and programming advice?
You are SICK - SICK!
Oh - right - Hinie flu - you did have it, you were sick.

Besides the US, I've been in China, Malaysia, Japan and Ecuador so far in October and have some other travels lined up for the rest of the year. The only time I've been sick with any kind of flu in the past 30 years is after I got a flu vaccination, so I'll take my chances.
Interestingly, on arriving in Beijing they had us all walk through a machine that scanned for fever.
In Ecuador we had to fill out a form asking if we had been sick or had any symptoms of "gripe porcina". But when we arrived in Quito around 11 PM the doctors were off duty so nothing was checked. I figure that either no one in Ecuador ever gets sick at night or the whole thing is nothing they're really very worried about.

Heck no! I'm gonna catch the swine flu, then i'm gonna buy the t-shirt, then in 20 years i'm gonna rent the movie made about the flu and return it, wearing my ratty old t-shirt, and complaining loudly about how it was nothing at all like the real event.
