further to V, the only one you should really try to get quickly is the CCC as it stops Dave from crowing about how clever he is.

Oh, I think I know the scene as well. I think its when captain jack sparrow wakes the future steward, who lays a sleep with a pig. And Orlando Bloom is standing next to jack. Oh, its on tortuga as well, and Jack has just been slapt three times in the face

The Cassandra metaphor (variously labelled the Cassandra 'syndrome', 'complex', 'phenomenon', 'predicament', 'dilemma', or 'curse'), is a term applied in situations in which valid warnings or concerns are dismissed or disbelieved.
After having a cyclist cause $500 damage to my car a few years ago, and having some recent close calls, I've decided to invest in a dashboard camera to protect myself from liability claims. It seems like everyone in Russia has a decent one. I was thinking about just getting a GoPro Hero 2 ($300) but I'm not that impressed with the quality. Does anyone have one they like?
It would take some work to modify, but I have a set of Uniden cameras I bought at Sams club that work great. They are wireless, and come with wall brick adapters which aren't very convenient for my purpose, since I lack AC outlets where I want to place them. But looking at the adapters labels, they all require 12 Vdc ultimately, and that should be easy to rig for mobile use. They work at night, as well, and they're cheap.
I got screwed on my purchase, as on the box it said I could record to disk directly, but failed to mention that I can only record from one camera of four at a time, and I have to manually select which camera I want to record. I wrote to them to ask for an API that I can use to write my own sequencing program, but they've never bothered to answer my email. Still, one of their single camera units might be a cheap alternative that you can adapt to mobile use.
By the way, I find it ironic that, in Russia, everyone has one, but in the US, the self-acclaimed "Land of the Free," in many places they've passed laws against recording police in action, harassing citizens and beating the helpless. Apparently the members of the former KGB have found ways to move here, and get themselves elected to positions where they can enact laws against the freedoms supposedly guaranteed by our Constitution. Go figure...

Actually, the cops would LIKE that to be a law, but when challenged in court, they have *always* lost. Being in a public place, they have no expectation of privacy - it's the same excuse they use on civilians when they want to put up surveillance cameras.
