Rub vegetable oil into the paint, then wash the lot out with soap and water - it will disolve the paint and is much less harsh than turps or white spirit - it's the only thing I use to clean my hands after painting

Where is the discussion area for a BlueTooth device which is there, but not really there ?
Windows (Win'7, on the device manager and "Devices And Printers".) is reporting a certain device on a certain com port, then C# (on the same machine) is reporting that that Com Port is not able to be opened.
I'm not sure where to ask about this.
Is it a BlueTooth question ? A serial port question ? A windows question ? A C# question ? Should I consult a psychic ?
Just had my first 'real' coffee in probably 5 years. Oh man, that's good. Can't stop smiling. Feel wide awake. Oh boy, why did I give this up???? Oh yeah, sleepless nights, blood pressure, er, other stuff. Oh never mind. Weeeee!!!!!

A friend brought me to a local shop the other day and swore the coffee was great. I was skeptical, as I thought all coffee pretty much tasted the same. Much to my surprise, it was actually much better tasting than the coffee I usually have at work. I actually thought, "this tastes good, give me moar!!!!" rather than "gotta drink this to stay alert for the next 8 hours".
When you consider the cost of a latte, and how many people have to buy thier latte in the morning, why should you be surprised. I have been places with pretty good free coffee, and still people go to starbucks and pay out over 3 dollars. I was at LVH (las vegas hilton) this weekend and they were charging over $5 for the large latte. I paid (also got a croissant for almost $4), but now I know that there is a starbucks just down the street, I will go there instead.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason? Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful? --Zachris Topelius

Woohoo, I wrote my first Ruby app (well, applet). Hunt the Wumpus, a console game. I posted the code on my blog (see sig).
I must say, I'm impressed with Ruby as a language. A *lot* of nice features, a cross between OOP and FP.
I've been using the IronMine IDE, which is OK (beating my head against some of the differences between it and VS's IDE) and did the entire development in an Ubuntu VM, so that probably added to some of the pain. However, overall, once I got familiar enough with the tool's nuances, it was a good experience.
My only complaint about Ruby is that, being interpreted (wait, they call it a "dynamic" language), there is NO compile-time checking. So every code path needs to be carefully tested, as you can write a function call to a function that simply doesn't exist!
Maybe there's something like Lint for Ruby out there. Anyways, this is basically day 2 of actually doing some work in the Ubuntu VM, after spending a few days reading through "Programming Ruby" by Dave Thomas, and I've already started on "Agile Web Development with Rails", also by Dave Thomas.
I am receiving a very high level of unexpected help here; so much so that I can hardly keep up with it. I also have a shop here with people and meetings and stuff; pretty good for concentration but still just enough distraction to prevent it from being a real study hall like I'd like.
Throw in a financial phishing attack this morning and now I'm trying to think straight.
I have seen here, on this site, the ability to somehow look at current and recent discussions in which I have been involved.
