I am afraid I don't know what "Dad's Army" is (I saw there was another post related to it), but your quote made me think of a scene from Lethal Weapon (I forget which number), where Riggs and Murtaugh were walking up to a house to talk to a witness and the house exploded.
Afterwards, Murtaugh is talking to a bunch of kids in front of the house and asks one of them what his name is, and one of the other kids say "Don't tell him your name, Alfred".

I found this Wikipedia page Britain's Best Sitcom[^]. There are a lot of shows I don't know, but I liked "Blackadder" and "Yes Minister", loved "Fawlty Towers", can't stand "Keeping up appearances", but I really thought 'Allo 'Allo![^] would be higher on the list. I think it is one of the funniest TV series ever.
