Most of my Win 7 Professional codes are used as I've reformatted my laptop and netbook several times over the past couple of years. I can activate each code online once only. I've still got my 10 Ultimate codes intact from an MSDN subscription.
What do you lot reckon about this: could I use an Ultimate licence code on a Professional version and sort of hope it would "promote" me to Ultimate or are licence codes intrinsically tied to the version they were created for?
A chap I worked with is sending me a copy of the iMac drivers for Win 7 dual boot usage. I have a Win 7 Pro installation DVD but I would like to use an Ultimate licence if I thought it might be usable. That's the background.
