I would totally do that!
...I locked a file cabinet in the office that we apparently didn't have a key for because it had something that looked like a button so I pushed it!

Why guns?
Your rather antiquated bill of rights (based upon the British Version), merely says the right to bear arms.
It does not stipulate guns anywhere.
Issue everyone with a pea-shooter and ban guns.

Why not longbows, pikes, swords and axes?

that would involve cutting down trees and the greens would ban it

There's no such thing as an "assault rifle".

would seem to disagree and as they make them you will excuse me for believing them wont you
although banning assault guns makes as much sense, think what a Sturmgeschütz IV would do to the roads

No person shall own any gun, rifle, firearm, energy weapon, or other projectile based weapon unless the States military or police are also allowed to own said weapon. If you disarm the Government, most of the gun nuts will be willing to conceded less necessity for owning weapons. But if you disarm the populace while arming the State, well, um, Godwin's Law.

Think that this may bepart of the problem. sounds like they are paranoid and therefore shouls be prevented from having sharp objects let alone firearms.
If you distrust you govenment that much then replace it with one that you can trust and then you can get rid of the guns

Are you saying you have complete faith and trust that your government is always going to do the right thing (which entails NOT violating your rights).
I certainly don't, and the government ain't workin' that hard to make me think otherwise.

Neither am I (and I honestly hope it doesn't come down to that), but that doesn't mean I shouldn't be ready if it does. Besides, who says that the rebellious will even be right?

Wrong.
Based on that one should never by insurance and should drive as fast as one wants because nothing unpleasant could ever happen.
But prudent people realize that bad things can happen and then they base their choices on their expectations of what might happen and what they might want to do when it does. Which is why some people buy insurance. And obey speed limits.

You obviously have absolutely no idea how one normally (almost always) goes about replacing an existing government.
And certainly none about how the US originally replaced the government that it existed before it. Nor even what circumstances during that process specifically lead to the 2nd amendment.
