I want to get in touch with an author of an article to see if he can do some work for me on a project I am doing. I do not see a way to email author directly, and I was not sure if it is oka to ask that kind of question in the article's comments and questions area.
The author did work on a webcam control in wpf and I want to pay him to do this in a project I am developing. Is there an appreoved method of asking someone this type of question on this site?
Not really an approved way, but there is a way you can do this. Find a message they've recently posted (go to their profile, click "Messages", click one of them), then click "Email" to send a private reply (it will be sent to their email and won't show up in the forums).
Note that each member can choose to disable email replies for each message (in which case you won't see an "email" button), but it's worth a try.
What the hell am I going to use for RSS reader then? The Google Reader was nice. Oh well, I was scared of this as the Reader kept moving off the Gmail menu bar forcing more clicks to get to it. I use the Android Google Reader too, oh well.
So far, I'm liking Feedly[^] (in List format anyway). It supports most of the same keyboard shortcuts, and doesn't seem to be hammered like many of the other alternatives. Plus, you can log into it with your Google account, and all your saved items and feeds are lined up.
