I just wanted to make a quick post to introduce myself to the community and say hello! My name is Kevin and I started last week with the CodeProject team. I'll be handling a range of different projects in my new role, but one of my main focuses moving forward will be the day-to-day management of all the great contests that we have going on each month.
Full disclosure: I am by no means a programming wizard (like all of you!) I come from a communications and journalism background and before starting here at CodeProject I spent my time as a writer/editor/journalist for an IT news magazine/website interviewing Fortune 500 execs and hopscotching around the continent to attend different industry events and conferences.
I am, however, super excited to be diving head first into the world of coding and plan to spend the next few months as a living sponge -- sucking up as much about programming, coding, and developer culture as I can . If you've got any questions, tips, or want just want to say hello please don't hesitate to drop me a line on here or at my fancy new email address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Right, so now that I have a little bit about "me" out of the way, I guess I did promise to give you $20. It's super simple. As I'm sure most of you saw the Windows Azure Developer Challenge has been ongoing since April and final submissions were due yesterday, but as part of the contest we were also offering a $20 bonus just for signing up for a free trial of Microsoft's Windows Azure. That bonus is still valid until this Sunday June 30.
