While it's true you can eat any bird, I draw the line at anything that doesn't take more than a mouthful when filleted - it's just too much work for too little reward! And seagulls. Filthy tasting things by all reports.

It would learn to move without ringing the bell - but only when you're not around. Having seen a cat catch a bird, it began its run, the birds took off - and it snagged it at nearly 8 feet in the air. Once the cat lunges, the noise doesn't make a bit of difference.*
* Unless you want to give the birds and other playthings a musical sendoff. New Orleans style?

You'll probably never have heard of him. I certainly hadn't until I read his obituary[^], but what a remarkable man. His story reads like a Boys Own adventure, and while I'm sure he never sought the distinction, he certainly made a major impact on people's lives.
I was brought up to respect my elders. I don't respect many people nowadays.
I actually like Ruby, and I have had no issues with it whatsoever. I have become kind of addicted to Rake (Ruby Make), and I am using it for my build process. I am working on a kind of standard toolset for builds, with a few different programs and whatnot, like Ruby, Perl, and Python, along with some tools like Wget, 7-zip, WinMerge, and so on.

When I taught in the Middle East, I'd give a few marks simply for naming the majority of controls sensibly. I made this clear at several points in the course, pointing out that not only is it easier to code this way, when I mark the work I can figure out what they intended and if things aren't working then I stand a chance of figuring out what they intended. The homework was marked like this. I also mentioned this in the rubric at the start of the exam paper and told them read the rubric at the start of the paper. point out the bit about the marking. Out of about 300 student papers marked, approximately 5 of them even tried. I'd have been overjoyed if my uni had handed out free marks like this.
