Airbnb article: How does it work when Airbnb asks for an ID?
https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/1237/how-does-it-work-when-airbnb-asks-for-an-id[^]
They explain, why they may do this: Some hosts require their guests to provide a government ID in order to book their place or experience.
On the other hand: The photo of your ID will never be shared with your host.
It doesn't make sense together (at least, for me).

And finally: You can, however, remove the photo of your ID 90 days after you complete your most recent booking. Well, at least this.

I have read the whole article and I really don't like what I see.
