 Assuming zero drag and rolling resistance: You lose about 85% to 90% energy in an electric motor, so accelerating and braking with a KERS gets you back 90% of 90%. So you lose ~18% If you dont accelerate and brake, you dont lose any. If you do assume drag and rolling resistance then the hard driving case is affect more, because drag is proportional to the square of the velocity. drag = 1/2 * cd * roh * area * v^2.
