... but WPF Elephant | [mastadon] ing rocks. I have a graphic in my application that depicts the name and operating state of a device. For a new product, name construction has changed and some of the operating states are new. In my C++/MFC days, I would have spent hours or even days reworking component graphics and their drawing code. With paint.net[^] and a few very light touches to the XAML for the graphic it looks great, no code changes were required, and it took less than an hour.
