I went to Dallas four times a year for a decade. Every place I asked for medium rare steak said the same. I took it to mean 'I am scared you will sue me'

In Italy (piedmont region) we have several raw cow dishes, just diced and sometimes with a sprinkle of lemon on it (it acts as cooking).

In all of Italy carpaccio is quite appreciated - cow or fish. In fact I was baffled when people were dising sushi because "OMG it' raw fish you're gonna die!!1!!" while carpaccio, which is the same, is fine.

installed .net 4.8, noticed that a ".dotnet" and subdir "telemetry" (or something like that) quietly appeared in my c:\users\<myname> folder.

not sure if they do the same on other platforms, not sure (and don't care) what they're watching,
but it's really getting out of hand.

I replaced it with a junction to my temp folder - a folder I regularly empty.

I get tired of winduds hiding temp, info collection and cache folders [randomly?/haphazardly?/purposely?] throughout the directory tree,

...at least [most] linux apps use properly designated directories for most of these. (usually those linux apps that also hide these folders all over the place are ported from windud apps.)

We're all developers here. Do you not log things?

Where I work, our helpdesk/support software's auto-response system includes a message that asks people for the logs our software generates. If they don't include them, odds are we'll be asking for them before we close a case, unless it's for something trivial we've seen time and again.

Today is Twelfth Night - so the Christmas decorations come down today (and Herself will start complaining how bare the house looks).

And Dij the Cat has decided that he doesn't want to go out today ... I don't need a furry assistant, it'll just make putting them up next year a load harder, so I'll have to postpone that job for a while.

But it got me thinking. What kind of "undecorator" are you? I know people who pull 'em down, stuff 'em in a box, and either have a Gordian Knot to unravel next December, or who look at the Knot and buy all new every year. But me, I take 'em down carefully, wind strings of beads, card holders, lights, ... carefully onto tubes so I can undo them easily next year.

So what's your approach? "I'll deal with it next time" or "Plan ahead"?
