If you are not really after a particular brand, you could try Seat Tarraco. It is cheaper compared to big brands. I have been driving a Seat for over an year now and it has not given any problems so far.

Two golden-retriever sized dogs here. We've bought a used Mercedes Vito two years ago but by now we're not so happy anymore. Lots of costs for keeping it going, too huge if we go to Sicily with it's narrow streets, and simply too valuable if we go where we want to go with the dogs - meaning out in the green, far away from proper streets. Also mislike the looks we're getting from those that don't know you get that car used with 15.000, because it just looks like Men in Black arriving. In Sicily drawing too much attention from robbers. There are places in the world you don't want to draw attention.
We're having a look at Dacia Dokker right now. In Germany you get that new for 15.000€ with all extras available. Already have a Sandero for daily use and are very happy with that one. Dokker should be big enough for your ponys too

Missions for the day:
1) Clear up cat vomit under the bed from 04:30.
2) Fix two leaking taps: cold in the kitchen, hot in the bathroom.
1) Right in the middle, so I have to move the whole bed and it's sodding heavy. Briefly consider dismantling it, but then remember what a PITA it was to get together in the first place. Move bed. clean vomit, wash carpet, dry, hoover - and notice more that must have been there at least a week ...
2) Kitchen tap is a mixer, and it's probably from the 70's. I keep a stock of as-close-as-I-can-get O-rings to replace it's seals, and I swapped the old style "tap washer" cartridge for ceramic blades about five years ago. Non-standard, of course - but I didn't know that when I fitted them...
Bathroom taps are separate, and were new when we had the bath pulled out and a wet-room shower installed. Ceramic blade, natch.
Cold tap in the kitchen. Simple: take old one out, take it with you, buy a replacement cartridge. Fit it, turn on water and find the leak is worse.  Repeated trips to plumbers merchant, eventually get a non-drippy tap.
Hot in bathroom. Simple: buy standard items, take old out, fit new, turn on water, it doesn't leak.
But the pipe leading to it does ... sodding thing. That means fitting a new fibre washer, and that means getting the basin spanner which is at the bottom of the tool cupboard in the big heavy box marked "heavy and specialist tools".
I remember why I went into software now: "it's indoor work with no heavy lifting".

Ah - schadenfreude - I love it when some one's having a worse day than I! I am having a reoccurrence of the Amoebic Dysentery that I first got in Tehran in 1975. It comes back every once in a while, just to remind me of my mortality.
Antibiotics just seal the damn thing back up in its pustules, but the control procedures can be bearable. Pour a generous measure of brandy into a glass, together with a squirt of honey. Then add a cupful of hot ginger tea made by boiling up lots of peeled root ginger until the water is yellow.
It may kill me, but right now the world is sufficiently blurry that I won't notice!

I'm on my second "carpet spot cleaning" machine, which at least make it a little less unpleasant early in the morning (when you can get at it, which wasn't the case this AM).
The first was a Bisell - good machine let down by lack of thought. The suction tube has an internal spiral which traps the waste, and it all starts to stink very quickly. You can't clean it because it's not removable, and it gets plastic fatigue shortly after the warantee expires...
This one is a Rug Doctor - bigger, heavier, and not free of cr@p design problems (try cleaning the waste tanks some day, and the nozzle design traps cat hair where you can't get at it at all easily) but it's a lot more robust and reliable long term.
At least furface jumped off the bed today before he started to puke. vomit on the duvet is a lot less fun.

Tapped out on taps.
I bough, quite some years ago, a budget bathroom sink tap for our "new" bathroom. It was the "big box" store's house brand and an amazing bargain . . . at first. The cartridges wore out surprisingly quickly (at least the cold water side) and the replacements were amongst the most expensive . . . and only sold in pairs.
Eventually I took the cheap way out and bought a new set from a real brand. One of my earliest (but not last) made-in-China bargains. The infestation of untested and overpriced at any price junk had yet to fully encompass the world.
Now I look at the cost of spares to replace things before I buy the new one. Even the lovely Xeon box they bought me for work was against my recommendations. I wanted (and specified) an approximately equivalent gamer's box. It was cheaper up front and was built with standard parts rather than the exotica needed to care and feed a Xeon. Well - it's not my pocket but I spend other peoples money like it was my own (in the positive sense!). A digression - but look for the ability to maintain you purchases of value to you as part of the cost.

Well, these days I have the opportunity to work a lot at home. There is nothing worse than being in a deep coding trance, mighty bytes are flowing and suddenly in another room comes the sound of a cat upchucking.... and no, though they be family cats, they are not mine.
To make you feel better, I'll up you one - Saturday evening around midnight - snuggled into deep rem cycles...

COVID-19 is not funny to me. Yesterday, news just revealed a new cluster (source of 21 patients) at a restaurant that is within walking distance from my house. 1 confirmed case just a street away from me. It hit too close to home.

We have it one hop away at my wife's workplace, and a known person of us is already in quarentene...
but I still prefer to try to laugh about it than to get mad by panic and dumbness as many other people around here.
