It was - quite incredible! I went along to record history, and loads of people I know got really upset about it. Check the flame war this pic of mine started! Protest[^].

Yes . Brend and I spent today at the Home Office sorting his perm residence out. We have to stay here for another 2 years for him to be naturalized. I'm pleased it's not longer, although we are really looking forward to the next 2 years - so much to see around the UK and Europe It's gonna be fun (once it warms up a little...)

You don't look so ugly for a white guy.
But you are still to big to put in the pot, so we would have to tie you to a spit I guess.

... I have hung up my codeproject editors pen for a while.
I've been finding it hard to get the time lately that is required to edit articles. I only really have a chance to edit when I'm in college as I have no net connection in my flat [ ] and editing while at work wouldn't go down too well with my boss [ ]!!!
I've been a bit snowed under in college this year with projects. Nothing hard or stressful but they keep them coming thick and fast this year as we go out on placement in March and they try their best to fit a full years work into the shortened year [ ].
I'll be finished college at the end of February [ ] and hopefully, Chris permitting, I'll be back editing then.
Now even though I'm not an editor I please urge anyone who is currently writing an article or who is going to write one soon [or ever] to not use word to create your html and to read all the instructions... it makes life easier for everyone!!!
I should still be frequenting CP as much as ever [I know a lot of you are going and about now] so I'll still be around to annoy everybody.
It has been fun.

Hopefully. To be honest I have little spare time for anything at the moment and most of the time that I do have free I'm just builing personal apps and stuff.. not really much new as regards an article but perhaps I might stick some up in the Tools with Source code section.
I shoudl have a bit more free time after March.

First things first. I'd like that thank Uwe Keim [Home Page[^] -- CP Profile[^] for you Uwe] for supplying me with hosting in exchange for the bit of work I done for him. This guy is great!!
Ok. I'm kinda busy at the moment [lazy ] and I just don't have the time to put a site together. I'll probably use zeta producer[^] to make the site but I was just wondering if anybody has any decent ideas for it.... You know... so you can save me time... lol. This really is a long shot. lol.
Help appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hereby apologise for all my crap spelling mistakes and the typo's and stuff that I always do but please rest assured that these mistakes will go on and as such your CP experience will not change.. i.e. you can still take the piss out of me for them.
My usuals are:
the = teh [a common one among people on the web]
should = shoudl [ :wtf: ]
would = woudl [ :~]
Now, before I get flamed for not mentioning more I would just like to say, in my own defence, that I have fat fingers* and I blame this for my crap spelling as I always hit the wrong keys.
*Actually I don't... it's just that I type a little too quickly for my brain to keep up.

So I look lonely I really really wasn't lonely that night. That was probably the best night I ever had. So brilliant. At a ball with about 700 people and I knew about 150 of them and about 50 of them really really well. That was a night I'll never forget. Brilliant!!!

Sounds excellent. Nothing like large gatherings, where you feel comfortable, surrounded by friends.

It is. Hopefully this will work out. We get on so so well and I do really really like her... but I don't know if it's worth getting into something so serious as she will be going home in Feburary and I'm supposed to be moving to Alaska for 6 months in March.

Oh man - you are living my dream before me! What will you be doing?
We were hoping to go there next May, but it may have to wait a year now that I have a serious job, with annual leave restrictions

It's a tough choice, but you may find things will work out. My husband and I survived 3 years of me working / studying in England while he was doing the same in South Africa. Sometimes we can destroy something great, just by thinking too much

This isn't for def but I hope so.
6 month work placement for my college couorse. I'll be working for hope alaska [www.hopealaska.org[^] ]. The actual work experience isn't the best. I'll probably be just working on setting up and maintaining the network but the cool thing is this....
They'll be flying me all over alaska. They have locations in about 30 different places and I'll be flown around to the different locations as there isn't much of a rain or road system.. talk about a way to see the country!!!
I'll be on $400 a week and get free accommodation and all bills, except food, paid for. As regards work experience it's not what I want to do but there is no way in hell I'd let a chance to visit Alaska slip through my fingers!!!!
Fingers crossed for me!!!

In the meantime Clickety[^] click on the "Polar Bear Cam" link to whet your whistle (actually in Canada, but still cool!)

Now that's all the more reason to make things work out while you have a chance. I'm guessing it's pretty slim pickin's in Alaska...
