Sorry about that, I tend to use bin (as in binary) and exe interchangeably.
I'd love to help, but unfortunatley I have prior commitments monitoring the length of my grass. :Andrew Bleakley:

well I've also tried to delete the exe, but the result is still the same.
But during the compilation there are two phases one "compilation in progress". I suppose this is the compiler, which works fine. The obj files are created. Then the second phase "exe is being created" which is the linker. This process fails very often. Do you think that perhaps any of the dlls which are linked with my project could be corrupt?

System wide spell check
Dyslexic Helper is a spell check that can be used anywhere in windows.
I have a bit of a problem spelling due to my dyslexia, to help me with this I wrote an application that spell checks copied text. This application can be run anywhere in windows by a combination of keys or the application's menu, accessed via the system tray. Feel free to use this application as much as you like.
It is written using VB.Net as well as C# and the entire source is availble here, if you would like to see how it works. The spell check control I used is called NetSpell. I have changed this control a little bit but mostly just for looks. The system wide hot key control I found at The Code Project I modified it a little so I could change the hotkey at runtime and return the current selected hotkey as a text value.
Cheers,
Aaron

Why don't you post this as an article? Then it won't be buried in the flow of messages in the forum.

I didn't think it was article worthy.

You should give a try though, you never know. It might come in handy for other CPians

Hi all,
I have a vb.net application which connect to an Oracle Data Base, this application works very well on my PC, but when I tried to install it on another PC which also have .Net framework and Oracle DB, it did not work.
It could not connect to Oracle from any other PC rather than mu PC.
the problem message is:
Ora: 12541 : TNS : No Listener
plz all if any one have an idea to solve the problem tell me plz.
Kind Regards

I take it that the other client machine has the Oracle Client installed (at least v8.1). Is the Oracle database on the same machine, or does this machine have to connect to another machine hosting the database? Are you using Oracle Personal Edition to host the database on a remote machine??

And what would that problem be??? You'll have to explain this is a bit more detail, like what you've tried, what the errors you got were and on what lines of code, ...
Rafi_Rafiuddin wrote: please give me suitable code for this soon
Nope. Considering there's about a dozen different ways of doing this, a code sample at this stage would be pretty much pointless.

Your question is very vague.
Is it the syntax that you have problems with, or how to interact with the database? What have you tried?

I don't know why idiot voted you a 1. Seems like a perfectly valid question to me considering the OP's total lack of detail!

I'm guessing it was the OP... Too vague of a question. I would like it if people would structure their questions a little nicer

Well, at least there was a question... some even forget the question part of the question...

You might want to add some detail to this question. Plus, what does this have to do with VB.NET??

My guess is that he wants to use stored procedures from MySQL in VB? Not too sure since the question is very lacking in detail

I have code that creates a new window.
From within that window I need to be able to
redirect the first window using vb.net code
becuase I need to build the string first.
Any ideas anyone?

You can not do anything to any other window from the server code. If you need a string from the server code, create Javascript code that recreates the string, so that you can use the string in the Javascript.

I don't know how to recreate it in javascript.
Is there anyway I can pass it from vb to js?

Here is an example of how you create a string containing code. It's in C#, though.
string code = "var s = '" + theString.Replace("\\", "\\\\").Replace("'", "\\'") + "';";
BobsAfro wrote: Is there anyway I can pass it from vb to js?
No. You can not pass a variable from the server to the browser, you can only send the value of a variable.

Forgive me but I do not know how building a string in
c# is going to help? Please could you explain?

Maybe I was unclear. Of course you don't have to build the string using C#, any language that you happen to be using works. The example that I presented was in C#, as that's what I am using.

Forgive my stupidity but I do not understand how this wil help.
When a user clicks on the grid vb builds a string depending on what was clicked.
this string is then used as the querystring for a redirection.
How does building a string of code help?
