Hi all
I have some troubles with return type from UnManaged Code to Managed
I have UnManaged function which returns VARIANT *
And i have Managed function, which works with return result here is code
class Program
{
[DllImport("Convert_Dll.dll",EntryPoint = "Load")]
extern private static IntPtr Load(AppDomain Domain, string Name, IntPtr Test);
static void Main(string[] args)
{
IntPtr tt = new IntPtr();
object Obj = new object();// = new object();
int i = 0;
Marshal.AllocCoTaskMem(4);
Obj = Marshal.GetObjectForNativeVariant(Load(AppDomain.CurrentDomain, "Cool", tt));//,1);
i = (int)Obj;
}
}
the Object Obj is always null, but the function Load invokes correct.. Can U help me?

Usually an object being null means that data wasn't returned due to an error. Have you figure this problem out?

Hi!
I'm working on wizard for exporting some data to xml. Nice feature would be functional progress bar.
So far it is "dumb" and goes ++ or -- when it reaches maximum, while data is being written.
How can I (if I can) track progress of writing.
Edit:
I have found the solution for my question, but I'm too shy to show it.
It works, but looks awkward.
Any ideas what would be the proper way to do this?

Hi,
I try to connect the exchange 2003 using httpwebrequest .net class.
I am trying to get a list of foders using webdav. I took the script from the msdn site:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa494246.aspx
We use exchange 2003 .
The build of the project succeeded but an error occured on this row :
Response = (HttpWebResponse)Request.GetResponse();
The error mesage is - The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.
I thought that the problem is in this url -
string strRootURI = http://mailit.com/exchange/davide/;
but when I try it in the IE , I see my inbox.
How can I solve this problem ?
Thanks,
David

Hi all ,
I'm developing an application with C#.Net 2.0 and SQL Server 2005 , I want to consult you about the best solution to deploy this application on a Workgroup Environment with about 15 clients so that any change in the appplication that is located on server takes affect in all of the clients and this app becomes updated for all of the clients without needing to update them one by one?! I have heard about XCopy Developement , but I don't know whether it is suitable for this scenario or no ,
Thanks in advance .

No really. You want to look into ClickOnce deployment.

Thanks , But :

Why is ClickOnce not acceptable? From what you have said it would seem to be the best solution. Obviously there is something about your environment that makes it unacceptable. I cannot suggest anything else unless I know what the constraints are.

I have used the AppUpdater[^] and also works fine. It's similar to ClickOnce, though, so you might also have a problem with it.

Hello!
I don't know if I understand the problem correctly, that's why I'll ask about it first.
My computer stands behind a firewall that blocks all ports except for a few.
But I need these ports. So I thought to write a program that will route a port that is opened
by my firewall to a port that I can't get to it, and install it on another computer outside the
network with the firewall. First, is it a possible solution?
Second, can I write such a program in C#?
Thanks in advance!
Have a nice day!

Your explanation isn't very clear at all. You're making statements that contradict each other and you haven't provided any information about where the traffic is comming from that you want to redirect to where. Are the blocks that you're talking about on inbound traffic, or outbound? What ports??
Yevgeny Efter wrote: So I thought to write a program that will route a port that is opened

This makes no sense at all.
What's the "other computer" outside the firewall?? What's it's purpose in life?
If you're talking about routing traffic from the Internet going to a specific port on a machine inside the firewall, the only thing that can redirect that traffic in the firewall itself.
If you're talking traffic comming from your machine that is going to a machine on the outside, then you have to open a connection on the target machine and the target port on that machine.
Yevgeny Efter wrote: Second, can I write such a program in C#?
I seriously doubt it.

I know this isn't the right forum, but the right forum has disappeared. I re-installed VS 2008, then ReSharper yesterday on my laptop, and now my Intellisence isn't working in the XAML editor. It works everywhere else, and on my desktop machine it works in the XAML editor as well. I really don't feel like trying another re-install just to be disappointed again. Any ideas?

I have about 11 pcs that after running the installer (built with vs), the winform application will not start. The event log does not contain errors. It does contain a message about the install completing sucessfuly. When I double click on the application icon, it displays an hourglass, then the hourglass goes away, and then nothing. No error message is displayed.
I have had our desktop support team run software inventories on the affected PCS. All PCS are XP with sp1 with varying amounts of memory from 512mb to 1.25gb of ram.
Other PCS that the application was installed on work just fine.
Any thoughts about what I should look for would be appreciated.

Is the .Net Framework installed on these machines?
"On one of my cards it said I had to find temperatures lower than -8. The numbers I uncovered were -6 and -7 so I thought I had won, and so did the woman in the shop. But when she scanned the card the machine said I hadn't.
"I phoned Camelot and they fobbed me off with some story that -6 is higher - not lower - than -8 but I'm not having it."

Yes it is.
I have narrowed the probelem down to this error message:
"Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. Exception Type: System.AccessViolationException "
I was able capture some information and put it into the event log. The form starts to execute and calls the InitializeComponent() method. The InitializeComponent() method first instantiates all the controls and then it trys to start setting the properties for a tab control. When settting the tab control properties it throws the error above. This form was converted from .net 1.1 to 2.0. Also, the research I have found on this error is it was previously threw a null reference exception in 1.1. However we never had any problems with this form in 1.1.
The really strange thing is that when I do a remote desktop connect to the PC from my laptop (we are 2 floors apart), the code works just fine. If I go down stairs and login to the PC directly, the code does not work.
Thanks,
patrick

Weird. The remote desktop behaviour suggests to me that there might be some kind of graphics card/driver related problem on the target PC, but that's only a guess and very dubious one at that.

I drag a wpf button on to a wpf form and wire up it's OnClick to display a message box (Helo, world! ).
When the button is clicked (whilst running) it's background colour repeatedly cycles between the mouse over and mouse out states (ie Highlighted/Un-Highlighted).
This can't be normal, can it?

I'm think this is perhaps a default behavior, but how can it be over-ridden?

Right, after much farting about, this does seem to be a default behaviour applied to buttons when they have focus. I shall fart about a bit more to see how styles can be applied to change this.

The styling you are referring to is the new standard in Windows Vista for the button control. To override the syling you can create a copy of the control template in Microsoft Expression Blend and delete that behavior.
