You are in for a buttload of work. You can get the text from simple controls with GetWindowText, but to get it from a word doc or PDF, is a major undertaking, if it can be done at all.
In many ways, your best bet would be to grab screenshots of the desktop and buy an OCR library

What do you want to do, set a default value ? Why are you setting the end date if it's a fixed interval ? Set the Value of the picker to set it's value.

I followed a tutorial, created a basic DLL and created a sum function which returns the sum of two integers. The code compiles fine and DLL is created. However when i use it in c# and load it as reference, it give me error. It says 'reference can not be added. Make sure the file is accessible and a valid com object'. What could be the problem?
Thanks

The problem is that you can only reference COM and .NET DLLs in .NET. You can, however, use p/invoke to link to and call methods in a plain vanilla dll, like the one you created.

I recommend buying a beginners book on C# and winforms to help you through hurdles at this level.
You just have textboxes for the user name and password, use code to check if they are correct, and then either ask again or continue, depending on if they enter the right value or not.

I really wonder why I bother helping people when they respond by giving me a 1 and deleting their post. The question was basically asking how to check if two strings were equal and do an if statement. You tell me if I deserve a one for saying this person needs a book.

LOL - thing is, I answered her only other question ever and told her then she needed a book. I mean it when I say it, it wasn't meant to be an insult.

CG, I appreciate the good work you're doing here. There will, sadly, always be numbskulls who hit out at people trying to help them.
If it makes you feel any better, I went through the same phase for months a year or two back - EVERY answer I gave was voted a single 1.
Cheers,
Vikram.

Yeah, I get it all the time, I posted in the lounge about a good book I am reading, and got a 1. I don't really care too much, but I am frustrated mostly that I try to help people and they refuse to be helped.

How Can I Make a ToolTip to show the current value of a TrackBar Control when the slider is moved? for example The volume control in windows media player?
(Jameel)
|
|
|
|

Handle the track bar value changed event and within the handler change the text of the tooltip. Here is the basic idea but not the syntax:
public void TrackBarValueChanged(Object o, Eventarguments e)
{
// here change the tooltip text
}

|
|

Thanx alot, i know it already friend, what should i write inside this mathod? i expect something like this
private void Binary_ThresholdBar_Scroll(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
TrackBar.Tooltip= Trackbar.value.toString();
//or any thing like that sensible?
}
(Jameel)

|
|

Hi,
I'm new to event handling in C#. I'm writing a windows service and i want a configuration form opens when user press a shortcut(like Ctrl + Alt + F12). I tried event handling and delegates but when the form had no focus it didn't work.
I want to know how i should listen for keyboard events when i have just a windows service or a form without focus. any help is really appreciated.
Thanks in advance
