your question is not clear... where is it showing hexa value....
you are declaring int i = 16; are you displaying or reassigning it some where else....

Hello Guys
I'm working on a quite large mashup project
one of the options in this project is to mash the application with a web service
to link any project with a web service , we have to right click on the project name and choose the add web reference.
this is quite good and the wizard or the dialogue box appears successfully.
the point is that i want to show this wizard when clicking a button as an example.
i don't know the code that prompts the .NET to show this dialogue box of adding a web reference.
if it is not possible
is there a way to connect to a web service without using adding a web service.
of course i prefer to have a solution for the first request of mine , but keep the second in mine if the first is not possible.
thanx alot

this post was so good from the first view
i think after analyzing it i'm going to extract valuable infos.
but
isn't there a direct way to request the AddWebReference wizard to be shown ??
thanx again for ur valuable help

I want my aspx to connect to SQL server 2005. So i need to defined a connection string in webconfig, create a database, a table and a database user in SQL server. Finally, an ODBC DNC connection too.
1) Is there a way to create ODBC connection in C# through programming?
2) If i am packaging SQL 2005 driver with my project do i still need to create an ODBC connection?
Thanks

Yes, .Net has support to interact with the ODBC. Look here[^]

If you are using SQL Server, there is no need to use ODBC. .Net has different way of accessing SQL Server.

I want to make sure that you are saying if I had an sql server 2005 (ODBC driver) packaged with my application then I do'nt need to create a physical hard-code connectin in Control Panel -> Administrators->ODBC-SYSTEM DNS.
is ODBC connection and System-DSN are the samething.
|
|
|
|
|
First you need to know what ODBC [^]is?

Yes, for SQL Server you need not do this.

Ramp Up[^] is a free online learning program for developers. We’ve just launched three ASP.NET tracks. These tracks, along with the other currently offered ones (eg, Windows Mobile 6, SharePoint for Developers, Visual Studio 2008), teaches the important skills in a guided path, making the learning process easier and more efficient. The easy-to-access content (provided by subject-matter gurus) is specifically tailored for the Ramp Up program, and offered in a variety of forms (article, v-lab, codecast and slidecast).
These classes begin at the beginning, so you don't have to know a bunch before you get started.
Need tools? To get started using Microsoft developer tools for free or nearly free:
- Students (high school and college) can get Visual Studio to write a .NET application through Microsoft DreamSpark [^]
- Startup companies can use BizSpark[^] to get software licenses and developer tools
- Developers can also use the free Visual Studio Express[^] to get started
For more information, see Ramp Up Adds ASP.NET Training Tracks for ASP, PHP, Those Getting Started[^].

Actually I am very new to Linq. But I have a project where I have to use linq to entities. I have a Gridview in my aspx page and I have a table named Address with 6 columns. I have to bound this Gridview with data from table and I have to delete, update and insert new records using linq quiereies. How can I do that. I really appreciate that.
Regards,

//you have to create a DataClasses1.dbml and drag and drop ur tables and proceed
//these are methods and you have to pass the values.
public static void insert(int id, string name, string address, string department, string gender, int phone)
{
// DataClasses1.dbml name
DataClasses1DataContext da = new DataClasses1DataContext();
//table name
linq_padhu_emp data = new linq_padhu_emp
{
id = id,

Hi to All
How to Refresh the GridView in ASP.NET 2.0
Thanks
Mohan Balal
|
|
|
|
|
Call the grid's databind method.
I didn't get any requirements for the signature

Hi,
Means should I once again execute the query and assign the Datasource and call databind ? or simple dg.DataBind() ?

It depends on how you coded it. Do you want to refresh the grid with new data from the database or not?
Press F5 and give it a try. There is more than one way to skin a cat. See the link below for more information.

hi all,
I have two applications one is Windows application and the other is ASP.net application, both applications use Crystal Report 10 to preview data using direct SQL from the same stored procedure.
I'm passing one parameter to stored procedure using report.SetParameterValue() method
I have multiple copies of same database on multiple servers, one of them is working fine, but when connecting from ASP.net application to other databases - locally or remotely - it returns all records as if I didn't set parameter.
NOTE: the Windows application is working fine in all cases !!!

Good Day All
I have a textbox in a userControl and it has a Property "Autopostback" set to true, and as i know , this is encapsulated from the hosting page. now i need to set this property to true so that the Gridview in the Hosting page can recognize that the textbox of the usercontrol is set to true. I have added the following Properties from my User Control
public bool TextBoxAutoPostBack
{
get {
return txtbxActvs.AutoPostBack;
}
set
{
txtbxActvs.AutoPostBack = value;
}
}
Now i need to use them in my hosting page.
Thanks

It's not a very good question.
I'm assuming that you want to pick up the event that gets fired to your user control and pass that event back up to the page? I'd create an event on your user control that your page can then handle - fire this event when you catch the textbox event.

I've already answered this question in your previous post. Have you tried that out?
