I can see a yellow message which reads:

This is strange because if I refresh it then I can see the Q&A that fulfill my filters.

This is a link to an 86kb .png file, saved from PhotoShop CS 6, which I hope may contribute to the discussion of "use of vertical space" in the new design of CP[^].
There is an "as is" selection from a screen-shot of this forum (upper left in the .png file), and I have added five other examples that illustrate the effects of perceived vertical-space as you decrease the space between post-titles, and as you decrease the space between lines in one multi-line post-title (i.e., the leading). [1]
I personally do think the new design has gone a bit too far in the direction of "vertical spaciousness." But, it is not a "huge honking issue" for me: just one I enjoy commenting on because of my interest in design and typography that evolved naturally in my former work at Adobe on Illustrator, PhotoShop, and Acrobat.
I have no delusion that I am "real" graphic-designer (which is not meant to imply I am not highly delusional in many other areas)

[1] I have tried to simulate, in my examples for comparison, the color and "weight" of CP's font (I'm pretty sure it's the Segoe UI font, probably in semi-bold), but exact simulation is impossible, because of the very interesting multi-color anti-aliasing that which is rendered from native CP text to the screen.
Examine a sample of this from a screen shot at 3200% magnification to see what I mean: there's a veritable rainbow of colors being used.
I assume it's Windows 7 (I have ClearType activated), and, possibly, the browser (Chrome, in my case) anti-aliasing type like this: it's certainly not CP !

From my initial "Urgh!" things have improved.
Thank-you for getting rid of the Light Grey on White.
Being a chap of advancing years, and, as a function of those years, decaying eyesight, it was difficult to read!
There are a few other things, all minor but annoying in their own way.
Firstly, once one has gone down a few pages, and wishing to return to the First Page, it is slightly annoying that we have to navigate to the bottom of the page to do so.
Could the "First Page" link at the top be reinstated?
Secondly, the colour change indicator of a clicked link would be nice.
One sees a thread and reads through, but one cannot see the items one has already clicked on.
Even normal HTML defaults to a colour change on clicked items.
Thirdly, thread delineation.
There is no differentiation between threads.
Obviously we do not want hard table lines between them, but some sort of fencing would be nice.
The fourth one is a technical issue.
I was looking at the site on a Netbook and the screen did not resize to fit, but gave me a scroll bar.
Being at work I am unable to give more information, but I will look again tonight and give more details.
Generally, though, I see the small adjustments made over the last few days and I can deal with the site much easier.
But seriously, who decided Light Grey on White? I bet it was someone with eyes like diamonds!

And how many of these designers are representive of developers, who (I dare say) make up 90% of CP's audience? Rhetorical question.
Don't get me wrong - I appreciate your unflagging efforts and am grateful for CP. It's materially advanced my career for more than a dozen years. I try to pay back by answering questions and mentioning CP (loudly) to every vendor (and prospective advertiser) I communicate with.
Thanks for reducing the vertical padding in the sections on the home page and addressing the issue of foreground and background colors, at least to some extent. I continue to ask that the padding in the forums be reduced further so that they're at least closer to what they use to be. At a site such as CP, information and screen real estate is king. Large swaths of whitespace reduce the effectiveness of the forums and give the impression that their content is frivolous and sparse, which as we all know, isn't the case.
It's my personal goal to get the SO .NET audience to move to CP. SO's readership already openly touts CP as being the premier source of well-organized source code. Let's get our forums to look crisper and let's get some of that SO traffic to this coast.

In View Questions in Q&A, the names and time of posting text overlaps the banners and sections in the right-hand area.
I use Chrome 21.0.1180 on Win7 x64 with zoom set to 90% (this also happens on 100% - normal zoom, albeit less).
The issue is replicable 11.0.1 and IE9.
It's even worse on Chromium 18.0.1025 and Firefox 15.0 under Ubuntu 12.04 LTS x64.
EDIT: Changed type to bug. Layout type is fixed, screen resolution 1600x900

Hello again,
It seems that in several pages the footer is not at the bottom of the page, in some cases it is mixed with the right elements, i.e. if I go to review all my questions, in the last page there is only one question in the list, there the footer gets blended with the "Top experts in 24hrs".

It is better now, but not completely finished Chris:
Now the footer is not being mixed with the right column, as the gray vertical separation line stops the footer to continue going right. Which is good.
Anyway, in that page, the footer keeps being at the vertical position in which the "Top experts in 24 hrs" is, cutting half of the advertisement that you have placed on the footer.

Good to see the new layout of code project. It resembles the microsoft websites in a sense. I have a suggesion regarding this. As you have changed the layout of the website why cant you think of changing the "LOGO" also. i have a logo idea in my mind which preserves the existing logo of Code Project. If you are ready to think about changing the logo i can surely help you in doing that. Hope a positive reply.
