I use a windows 2008 R2 dedicated server. Recently I'm in a weird problem. I host almost 15 sites in that server.All works well and the average cpu load remains 10-15 all time. Recently one of the sites starts troubling me. When it starts, the Cpu reaches 99-100 and all getting stopped. When I stopped that site and and its application pool, the server come back to normal way. This isnt a over traffic problem.Even when I point the hosted files to another domain, that site works well. Such as, My problematic site is abc.com. When I point the directory of abc.com to other xyz.com, no problem occurs. But starting abc.com hangs all things. I find that php-cgi.exe and mysqld.exe cause that damage, but same code running under other domain remain intact. ANd again this is not a trafic issue, as no sooner than I had started abc.com, cpu reaches 100%!!! Please suggest something to get me out of this.
I have 3 pages say A.aspx,B.aspx and C.aspx.

if(redirected from B)
I dont know how to catch redirection request.Please post the code in C# asp.net.
in my opinion ajax is good and safe control and easy to use but if u want to have more graphical effect u can use nivoo slider it's free and fast.
I have lot's of test with the 3 top of slider that are usual: 1.ajax ,2.nivoo ,3.wowslider
the result is nivoo slider won.
Most here on the CodeProject write their own programs for everything, such as slideshows, few purchase anything for use.
You can then make it more complex by adding something to store various image file locations, such as a xml file, and rotate through the record elements.
I had some slide show code from a project I had to upgrade, in which the slideshow was the only thing that worked. Actually now that I think about it, I had to fix that as well, was poorly written. Requires JQuery 1.8.2. I don't have the CSS for it anymore.
I think this had a container called slider_Container, and 4 div tags inside it, in which in moved the div inside the container. It's written in Jquery, and will not work with an update panel on the page, because you have to edit the file below to handle the UP events when they fire.
Best thing would be to have the data in a database, because it would be miliseconds to retrieve the data.
More practically, I would look into building a Progress bar which could show that activity is actually happening. Most users are fine with 3 to 5 second response time as long as they know that something is actually happening.
Thanks for the Response.
I do have a progress bar which greys out the screen while loading...I know 3 or 4 secs for loading data is not a big deal......Actually, the same files are read by a vb program and charts are displayed automatically when a file is updated.
Having data in the database is a overhead as the data is updated in the files every 1 minute during the peak hours and each file has 520 rows * 13 columns of data.
Hmmm. Maybe you should try to break down the problem into its pieces to determine where to make your improvement.
For example, determine how many miliseconds for each part of the process ...
1) read file
2) analyze data
3) draw graphs
4) present results to user
I'm not exactly sure how to capture each one of those statistics because I don't fully understand your application, but you get the idea. Determine which piece of the puzzle is taking the longest and then the folks here can offer you ideas on how to make it better.
Some other points of interest to post would be:
a) what version of IIS are you using
b) what browser is your client using
c) what kind of network connection is between your webserver and client (LAN/WAN), (10/100/1000) MB per second.
d) maybe a simple ping test from the client machine to the webserver could provide insight to a slow network
Good luck. Keep us posted of your progress and solution.
Does anyone else use this menu in a asp.net web page? I can get it to work in a regular html page, but not in an asp.net page.

Macromedia's Fireworks came the closet back in 2003, the new edition may as well. It allowed you to make slices using the slice tool, so you can take a firework file, and slice it up into pieces, and then export the pieces as html.
I did some searching, and several companies claim they can do it.
In the long run, a competent programmer can translate a page mockup into an HTML encoded page by hand in a short amount of time.
In the history of web pages, it looked like many companies like Microsoft was going to phase out web programmers or designers by allowing programs such as word, excel, and in-design to export HTML for web sites. But over the course of time, even those programs were not able to step down lower enough for the common man to build a web site.
Perhaps you will be the one to write that program, making you rich and famous.
I use ASP.NET with VB. myDataSet is a DataSet with some data. I want to save the DataSet XML to Local Storage and then load the item from Local Storage offline. But now I seem to be failed to write the item of xml to Local Storage. Does somebody know how to solve this problem?
Dim xml As String = myDataSet.GetXml()
Dim str As String = "<script> localStorage.setItem('key1', '" & xml & "'); </script>"
ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(Me, Me.GetType(), "showmessage1", str, False)
I use localStorage to save a item called "key1", and then I want to read the value and display it on Label('LabelLS'). But the Label'text does not change. I am sure localStorage get the key1 item(I had used document.write(d) to print key1 item). Does somebody know how to solve it?
Protected Sub ButtonSubmit_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles ButtonSubmit.Click
Dim str2 As String = "<script> var d = localStorage.getItem('key1'); var c = document.getElementById('LabelLS'); c.innerHTML = d; </script>"
ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(Me, Me.GetType(), "showmessage2", str2, False)
Actually i have a doubt.
I was thinking to make some tool but the problem is that it needs to extract some data which is in datagrid in some other site.
Is it possible to extract those data from that site and store it in,say,textbox in my site.
Hey thanks. Actually i got it. What i was missing was that i wasnt prefixing "http://" before. but it's ok now. but there's a diff issue now.
I have a page say "http://ev~.in/.../..../~.jsp"
It's showing error that
A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client (txtdest="<!doctypehtml><html...").Description:RequestValidationhasdetectedapotentiallydangerousclientinputvalue,andprocessingoftherequesthasbeenaborted.Thisvaluemayindicateanattempttocompromisethesecurityofyourapplication,suchasacross-sitescriptingattack.Toallowpagestooverrideapplicationrequestvalidationsettings,settherequestValidationModeattributeinthehttpRuntimeconfigurationsectiontorequestValidationMode="2.0".Example:<httpRuntimerequestValidationMode="2.0"/>. After setting this value, you can then disable request validation by setting validateRequest="false" in the Page directive or in the <pages> configuration section. I guess we cant bypass that. right?
What my main aim is that i have table under tht page (i have to login too) which shows attendance. I just want to extract the attendance thing. Is it possible?
