That may well be true, but someone still has to implement and test it. And, if you had not noticed, there has been a huge amount of work going on behind the scenes recently; the hamsters may be wearying.

During vote of best article of any month.. without signing in, a weak warning message is shown on page.
is it possible to show warning message in bigger font.. or with any better way ?
As I hear,
becuase of this scenario,
some people think that they vote but leave the page without voting.

Hello,
I represent a software company, Devart, and we have previously posted many our products in the Codeproject catalog, but later Devart account has been deactivated. Now we are not able to update the products and some information about product versions and features is very outdated.
Is there a way to get the account back? Or may be is there a possibility of creating a new account and transferring all of the existing products to it?
Really need help with that.

I thought your account was reactivated a while back. Were you banned again?
If people feel that you are promoting software for your company, and you aren't paying Code Project for the privilege of doing so, they will tend to vote your account as spam.

And is there a way to do something to cancel the account deactivation or is that permanent? The thing is that lately we haven't been posting any content, just updating the existing one, and all we need is at least an ability to update the products already listed in the catalog.

Only the CP team can reverse the deactivation. If all you've been doing is updating the catalog content, then I see no reason why anyone should vote it as spam.

It wasn't offensive in any way (Nish has provided the text I posted in that thread), but I am posting it thinking if the system is somehow being abused. The post was removed with just 1 vote, and I wonder if that's even possible. Also, another post I made in the same thread is rated a 1 (saw that by visiting my messages[^]).
I don't care about the 1 vote if that's one, but since down voting is disabled for general discussion forums, I wonder if the system is being abused by someone (or perhaps that post is marked as abusive, and in that case the 1 vote registered should be fine).
A more pressing concern is, how was one of my posts removed with just 1 vote? Do we not require more votes for deeming a post as abusive?

How do you know that?
Even if your message is reported 2 (or more) times, then the "My Messages" list will still show "Score: 1.00 (1 vote)"

I believe that in case of multiple votes, it will show the correct number of votes in the bracket. Eg: Score: 1.00 (4 votes)

I'm 100% sure, because once I reported a spam message (which was reported already!), and after my report, I still saw '(1 vote)'

Actually, it shows only '(1 vote)' if a message is reported in forums where downvoting isn't possible. If downvoting is possible, then it shows the number of reports.

It is if it's a top member. With the spammers in place we lessened the requirements to quickly get rid of poor messages. A platinum level member has decided your post was offensive and it's been removed.
I disagree with this and have reinstated the message.

Just a thought: Messages could be reported spam/abusive and removed in a jiffy only if it's a new member's post. For instance, one "top" member's vote shouldn't be sufficient to remove another top member's post as abusive.
If the post being reported is made by a good old member, then several votes must be required before it can be removed (with no respect to "who" is reporting it).
Also, I'm not sure if it's just me, I can't see the reinstated message.

Unfortunately we have old accounts that get used for spam. It's happened time after time.

How much of the spam is from necroaccounts vs just registered ones? (And how many of the necrospamming accounts were used a non-trivial amount?) I think all the times I was trying to nuke something from orbit it was from new accounts.
If most of the spam's from new or almost never used accounts I think the colateral damage from 1 shot to kill is probably too high if it's catching regular users when they annoy some high rep idiot.

I agree with Dan. I urge that you rethink if it should be possible for a regular's post to be removed with just one vote.
Spammers are anyways being handled well, and in case someone uses an existing account to spam, the existing account won't have much of reputation points (in which case, it isn't considered an important account).
There should be some way to distinguish a contributing regular from a spammer who is using an account registered years ago. I presume the reputation points can help with this and so, it can be put to good use.
