According to the papers last week he has been signed up by some dodgy energy consultancy called Nationwide Energy Services, one that has been heavily criticised by regulators for cold calling and prividing misleading info. Sounds like they are a perfect match for each other.

Not only that, but most of the eight weeks was spent in an open prison, which is more like a bed and breakfast you can't leave than a prison.

Not if it's Sudbury.
So many leave that place they only found one of them had been missing when he tried to break back in. Another had his own car in the car park they didn't know about.

We have Prescoed, which seems to appear on the local news with another missing prisoner so often there is speculation it should have it's own programme...

Pssh.
A quick google showed me a report from August of one year complaining that the 4th prisoner had absconded that year.
A report from August of one year about Sudbury says "The trio's* escape has brought this year's number of abscondees from Sudbury Prison to 32".
*That's right, there wasn't enough time for them to escape one by one.

What about all those escaping from France?

That's not an open prison. Open sewer, in places1. But not technically a prison.
1 I am thinking specifically of parts of Paris which seem to be so deep in dog sh*t the cafe tables are balanced on top of it.

Are you sure? The 'inmates' certainly smell like they only shower on a yearly basis.

Old Mr. Rugelbaum suffered from a rare disease which his doctor said could be cured by drinking human milk.
"Where do I get human milk?" asked Rugelbaum.
"Well, Mrs. Finkelstein just had a baby girl; maybe she can help."
So, every day Rugelbaum went to Finkelstein's house for his daily "medicine." Mrs. Finkelstein was a dark-eyed, big-breasted young woman, who, in spite of herself, gradually grew aroused as Rugelbaum lapped at her ripe breasts.
After a week or so, she whispered to him, "Tell me, Mr. Rugelbaum: do you like it?"
"Mmmm, yes. Wonderful," he sighed.
She hesitated, her lips parted and eyes aglow. "Is there anything else you'd enjoy?"
Rugelbaum murmured softly between slurps, "As a matter of fact there is."
"What?" she whispered.
Rugelbaum said, "Maybe an oatmeal cookie?"

Here are some others[^], about the same vintage I shouldn't wonder.

Mildly not KSS, so soapboxing.
I've been very disappointed by this series. Despite her rather fetching profile I've found Clara a bit bland and don't really give a hoot why she keeps biting the big one. I've found a few of the episodes started off well/with good ideas only to be ended suddenly (normally with a seemingly hurried timey-wimey wibbly-wobbly fix to keep the episode to 45 mins), some could have benefited from being a two-parter IMO. Last week's had a good idea and got going, only to run out of steam about two thirds of the way through. The only one I've fully enjoyed was the Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS.
The stupid thing is I really like Matt Smith as the doctor I just feel the scripts have never been underneath him </rant>

I totally agree with everything you said.
This in itself is of concern, as it is probably the first time I have agreed with anything anyone has posted on CP - especially in t'soapbox.

I suspect the 45min per episode limit is for selling abroad to TV stations with those darned commercials.
I agree the stories seem to get rushed at the end, and there's the usual problem of cultivating new writers, which leads to weak plots and lame stories aimed at kids. Perhaps it should be jettisoned onto CBBC where it belongs, the BBC can't seem to make up their mind what age group this show is targeting.

FTFY!
I suspect they are planning on moving it to the US permanently, and that it'll end up another poor "X Files" clone. The last series set in the states didn't really work as Torchwood, I thought.
