Thank you for the reply. To obtain something like bank statement via online, it won't be free of charge since case is too sensitive. If somebody signed up with third party and looking for an article on Code Project, he or she would be disappointed. So what if somebody posts an article about Visual Studio paid edition, which won't be free of charge. Point you have mentioned here to post article only free stuff which would narrow the usage of Code Project surfers. Please note that we are not sponsoring anyone and article created on personnel experience. 
Nevertheless I agree with you on links should not lead to any marketing stuffs.

I agree that this is one of those areas that's quite tricky. As this is a site for developers, there's a reasonable chance that they will have access to Visual Studio, but if there were a feature of it - let's call it Visual Studio Uber Superydoopery Expensive - and the article required you to sign up to a service to get access to that, then it probably wouldn't get authorised either, especially if you have to speak to a representative to get a price for it.
Now, if the company were to offer this to CodeProject as a sponsored article - i.e. they actually paid CP to host it for them, then the rules are different. As it is, the link to data that is only available if you pay for it marks this as free advertising (or spam). Sorry.

Hi,
I have posted an article "A simple Autosave/Recovery paint application" on 8-May-2012 and have uploaded the executable and source code in different zip files. However, I do not see them appearing as a link in my article.
Kindly suggest a way to link to link the uploaded files.

You have to insert the links yourself, but it is semi-automatic.
When you are editing the article, you should see the list of images and zip files on the right hand side. Just to the left of the file name, there is an icon you click and it will insert the download link at the top of the article.

I don't know if this happens for anyone else, but this behavior occurs on two different computers (Windows 8 64 bit/IE 11 and Windows 7 64 bit / IE 11).
When typing in the editor to create an article, tip, etc. I frequently see characters I type get dropped unless I type very slowly (and I am not a fast typist). In some cases, I type in a character, and the editor puts a space between each character I type.
My initial thought is that 1) I am doing something wrong, since I am new to the Code Project editor, or 2) I have something set wrong.
Anyone else have this problem? Any constructive advice would be appreciated.

I use the editors a fair bit and can't say I've seen that behaviour.
Have you tried using the new editor? (On the edit page there's a link at the top right that will take you to a page that uses our new editor)

Write a version which fixes these defects?
The reason for the votes at the end of the articles is to show what you think of the article, so I think that the comments go well enough with the votes there to encourage people to read the opinions.

Sometimes the online editor is a bit ... difficult ...
I couldn't find any way to use MarkDown to easily create one ... was wondering if it's possible, or am I missing something?
Is there any markdown to codeproject converter out there ?

Not yet, but we've been discussing allowing it for some time.
The issue is there's no WYSIWYG editor (that I can find) for Markdown. Plenty of live previewers, but I'd prefer to have a WYSIWYG option for novices.
What issues are you seeing with the current editor?

Of the top of my head:
- For many things I need to stop typing and then click on the icons on the top.
- I usually end up going into the HTML view to actually fix/add/remove some tags. Not a biggie if you know HTML, but if you don't you'll be lost.
- Examples:
- formatting something from normal to header to code might end up with multiple rubbish empty tags.
- fine control of images, needs html view as well.
- Uploading images is broken is the system goes into sleep and comes back.
I find it much easier to work locally, and then just upload everything, which I hoped I could achieve with markdown and some of it's editors.
(out of curiosity, what's the problem with live previwes ws WYSIWYG?)

So it seems more a desire to avoid HTML, which I get. My experience in Markdown is that you spend a hell of a lot of time (at first) fighting to do things like spacing around blocks to activate a paragraph formatting directive or getting list numbering working. I love having my Notepad style notes convert nicely into HTML, but when I'm formatting for publishing (and not just for note taking) I always fall back to HTML. However, I'm not everyone.
My desire for WYSIWYG is that, ultimately, the debate shouldn't be Text vs Markdown vs HTML. It should be "Edit the article as you want it to look".
