My application runs on three networks, two of which are at a special classification network. Any software that goes on these networks needs special approval, and with two different networks we have two different approval chains. This process takes forever! We are still stuck using .NET 4.0, SQL 2008 R2 and Infragistics NetAdvantage 2012 because the paperwork for getting the most recent version of these software packages approved for use on the special networks is still slow-rolling through the approval chain. I would wish for a "spark" to be lit under the approvers' butts to actually do their jobs and approve the new stuff so we can start using it!

Contact IT, Make CR, Contact boss of X department to get formulars signed, send them, wait for reply, send more documents, wait for implementation and then receive a mail... requirements just changed and you have to start over again

I find myself remoting into my home server to do dev-work despite (other than the SSD vs HDD) my server being a fraction of the specs of the workstations at the office.
If I have to wait more than a few minutes for my code to compile and start I'm likely to forget what I was doing in the first place.

Yep, it happens to me a lot. I have to compile over 50 projects. My work PC is powerful, except the absence of SSD, which just makes everything too slow.
I can't use my home PC (which has an SSD), because of infrastructural restrictions.
